Erekiburu (エレキブル) are one of the Template:Pokenum fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. Erekiburu is famous for being one of the Pokémon revealed before the Japanese release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The purpose of Erekiburu in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]

Appearance

Erekiburu has a humanoid look similar to its previous form, Electabuzz. Erekiburu's back has a symbol that looks like an outlet, similar to how a previous form of it, Elekid, resembled a plug.

Its Japanese name may be a portmanteau of the English words electricity (エレキテル, erekiteru) and cable (ケーブル, keiburu). The "buru" at the end of its name might be from the English word "bull", since Electabuzz are said to get angry when they see the color red.

Erekiburu learns Giga Impact, which is believed to be an elemental Hyper Beam attack for Electric types, and Thunder Punch. [3] It also knows another new attack called Charge Beam, which nothing is yet known about. [4]

Erekiburu also has a new ability known as Electric Engine. This raises Erekiburu's Speed when struck by an Electrical attack.

In addition, given the fact that Erekiburu appears in this game, it can be assumed that Elekid and Elecatbuzz are also obtainable in Pokemon Diamond and/or Pokemon Pearl.
