The Metabolic Pathways Wikiproject aims to, through the use of well designed templates, make the articles in Wikipedia relating to metabolism easily navigable. This includes all relevant enzyme and biological chemicals!

Articles of Interest

This WikiProject is interested in all metabolism related articles, from metabolism to individual compounds and enzymes such as Glucose-6-phosphate, Adolase and Hexokinase.

Pathway of the month: Glycolysis

Method of Action

This wikiproject will target metabolic pathways one by one, with the intent of organising the parent article and creating an article for each compound and enzyme within the pathway. There is, of course, no reason why you can't work on any other pathways if you want!

To make the many relevant articles navigable the templates provided below should be widely used, effectively making diagrams containing links. See Glucose for an example of this in action. Templates should also be created to make link-containing diagrams of the overall pathway for relevent pages.

Information and References

All information used should be checked and referenced from an appropriate source. I recomend the KEGG pathway database at http://www.genome.jp/kegg/pathway.html. This is also easily refered to via the enzyme/compund/reaction code.
