Mike O'Meara
Mike O'Meara is a restaurant owner and the co-host of the Don and Mike Show (based in Washington, D.C. but nationally syndicated) with Don Geronimo for 20 years. Originally from Glastonbury, Connecticut, Mike is known for his impressions with a repertoire of well over 50 celebrity voices. Before being teamed with Geronimo, O'Meara worked as a bar & nightclub disc jockey and held many positions in radio, including a stint working with Don & Mike show "enemy" Jack Diamond.
In 2003 Mike O'Meara, along with business partner John Cantrell, purchased what would soon become the first O’Meara’s Restaurant & Pub (motto: "Good Things Happen at O'Meara's"). Mike maintains an active role in the running of this successful restaurant & bar located in Manassas, VA (an outer suburb of Washington, DC). Mike and his partners are currently working on opening a second location, rumored to be located in downtown Washington, DC.
Mike is the father of two daughters and has been married twice. He makes passing references to his ex's on the show, mainly when complaining about paying alimony.
Facts & Trivia
Mike is an avid Boston Red Sox fan and an avid New York Giants fan. This apparent dichotomy is explained by the geography of his hometown, which is influenced equally by the New York and Boston media.
Mike's golf game is an important part of his life. In 2005 he was a tee announcer for The Presidents Cup.
Mike is quickly immersing himself in the world of motorcycling. His recently purchased Harley is getting some good miles put on it.
Mike O'Meara's High School prom date was Candace Bushnell of "Sex and the City" fame. When he interviewed her years later, he was embarrassed at how heavy he was and still is.
MIke's favorite charity is The American Cancer Society. His restaurant often holds fund raising events for them.
Mike is a graduate of The American University in Washington, DC.
