Originally activated as the 366th Fighter Group on June 10th, 1943, the wing has served in World War II, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf War. The 366th is unique in that it consists of five different kinds of aircraft (F-15 Eagles, F-15E Strike Eagles, F-16 Fighting Falcons, B-1B Lancers, and KC-135 Stratotankers), acting as the Air Force's premier crisis reponse unit.
