Agatha Christie (September 15 1890 - January 12 1976)

British crime fiction writer. Published over 80 books and other works. Also used pen name Mary Westmacott for romantic novels.

Famous characters include Hercule Poirot and Jane Marple. Her stage play The Mousetrap holds the record for the longest run ever in London, having opened in London in November 1952, and still running in March 2002.
