Papaverite (b. 1965) is the Wikipedia username for an American artist who finds Wikipedia to be "more addictive than crack, and the greatest thing since sliced-bread comparisons."

He has been involved in several high-technology ventures over the past two decades, but has retired, since a "tragic" accident in 1999, and he now spends his time painting, which was his major in college.

He resides in Astoria, Oregon, where his hobbies include smoking, drinking, and internet conspiracy theories. It is said that he enjoys long walks off of short piers and warm nights in the fire.

Additional data: He once killed a man with a guitar string. He's been seen at the table with kings. He once saved a baby from drowning. There are those who say beneath his coat there are wings.

Quotes

[edit]

"Look! Wikipedia has an entry about itself. I think I just blew my own mind." --About Wikipedia (August 20, 2006)

"All shapes and sizes." --About women (ca. 1987)

"Stanford Champagne, it's cheap but it doesn't get you sick." --About intoxicants (ca. 1984)

Note: If you think some of the above quotes are sophomoric and immature, you're right, but consider his age when he made them. It has also been reported that Papaverite maintains the right to act sophomoric and immature at any age, as a tonic of youth, and that he enjoys writing about himself in the third-person.
