"That Girl" is the third single from the British Pop band McFly. This is their first single not to reach the top spot in UK Top 40 singles.
It peaked on the charts at a respectable number 3.
The CD features another Beatles cover track, this time the track is "She Loves You". Also features previous tracks performed live. It is the first single by them to feature on a DVD Single which features footage of performances "She Loves You" at the Olympic Torch Ceremony, also some Home footage.
The song
Written by Tom Fletcher and former Busted member James Bourne. The fun and upbeat track was to be their third single lifted from the album; but first single released after the success of their debut album Room On The 3rd Floor. The lyrics tells a story of how someone felt that they couldn't get that girl, ended up with 'that girl' but soon found 'that girl' cheating on him and eventually breaking up with them. Vocally, it is a catchy track; where the bass lyrics are accompanied with backing lyrics that changed gradually due to the outcomes of the actions of "that girl".
The Video
The video shows the band working at a service/petrol station. They begin by being rather bored, as the probable lack of customers. "That Girl" eventually arrives with another Man and they ask the band members to "service" the car.
The Boys cause havoc:
- Harry: Overfills the car.
- Dougie: Takes parts out of the car that are actually needed for it to work
- Tom: Overcharges the credit card
- Danny: flirts with "That Girl" only to be let down.
Also shows snippets of them playing their instruments in the back garage.
