Outdated and Unreliable Sources

The section on "Revolts and Revival (1566-1683)" relies largely upon a single source, Itzkowitz and his The Ottoman Empire and Islamic Tradition, which was originally published in 1972 and is thus extremely outdated and unreliable. Other sources include Kinross and his 1977 The Ottoman Centuries, which is just as outdated and non-scholarly to boot. This article, and this section in particular, needs to be significantly rewritten to conform with the modern scholarly view of Ottoman history.Chamboz (talk) 19:40, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
