Hartshead is a village in the county of West Yorkshire, England, west of Dewsbury and near Hartshead Moor.

The village has pre-Norman Conquest origins; the Walton Cross dated from the 8th century.

The Revd Patrick Brontë met his wife Maria Branwell here in 1811. They were married in Guiseley and became the parents of Anne Brontë, Charlotte Brontë and Emily Brontë.

Kirklees Hall is near Hartshead.
