A barnstar for Jimbo - he is so nice. Someday a historical statue will be built for him! 0 01:31, 17 Feb 2004

another barnstar award to Jimbo for being the greatest wikipedian ever known to me. Antonio Le Chic Boy Martin

Amsterdam (or Rotterdam) Wikimeet

I will be in Amsterdam from 24 August through 30 August and would like to meet people there.

Hello Jimbo I put a notice on the Dutch village pump: nl:Wikipedia:De kroeg. I think you will get a few reactions from us. I cannot make it unfortunately as I life in Bangkok Thailand. Though I am Dutch. Waerth 05:13, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)
On two other notes, if you ever get to Bangkok ... tell me. And see if you can try and get some copyrightfree pictures of the UN (logo's, Kofi Anan etc.)! You are going to speak there anyway! Waerth 11:43, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Hi Jimbo, I would be happy to meet you while you are in Amsterdam.
We are actually planning to meet up with some people in Rotterdam tomorrow, and are considering to postpone our meeting for one week. Would saturday the 28th 4pm in Rotterdam be a possibility? We will work something out, I am sure! oscar 11:04, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Rotterdam sounds nice. Which location(address (street or ICBM) ? Is anyone already available for picking Jimbo up at (one of the) stations or schiphol? (I might just volunteer to do so.)Kim Bruning 11:10, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I hope people will know where and when a bit in advance. I'd like to come, but I'm normally in Nijmegen during the day, so I'd need to take a day off or so. Kim Bruning 21:30, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Yes, I would be interested. Perhaps Amsterdam, Central Station, flower shop, could be a good place to meet, Any evening except friday and sunday would be fine to me. I dont know your agenda, which will be leading, and no doubt others from the dutch wiki have their own preferences. TeunSpaans 07:34, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I will be available Saturday and Sunday, and I will do whatever is requested of me. If I am to travel to Rotterdam (or anywhere else), this will be fine, although it would of course be helpful to me when the time comes if I had detailed instructions as to what train to take, how long it will take me, and so forth. Please schedule for the convenience of the maximum number of people and a good location, and I will do whatever is necessary to attend. Jimbo Wales 01:10, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Tampa Wikimeet

I will be in Linz, Austria on Labor Day (September 6), so that day is not good for me. Ya'll could meet without me, of course, and that would be sort of amusing. But what I'd like better would be for us to meet something like September 11th (a Saturday). Later on in September, I will be leaving the country again, this time to speak at the UN in Geneva in late September. Not sure about the dates on that second trip yet. Jimbo Wales 00:03, 9 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think the sooner we set a firm date, the better everything will be planned. I say September 11 is just fine. Mike H 00:05, Aug 9, 2004 (UTC)

I'm moving down to Tampa and I would like to meet everyone in the Florida/Southeast area, or whoever else would like to come. I've talked with Jimbo a little bit on this, so does anyone want to do something in Tampa on September 6? That's Labor Day. If that date isn't good, please suggest another one. And what do we want to do? Where to do it? Suggestions! Mike H 16:14, Jul 25, 2004 (UTC)

Not sure that day is a very good one for me. I'm in Tampa though, so I might be able to stop by for part of it. anthony (see warning)

I thought USF would have a fall break but it turns out that they do not. It'll be one of my earliest dates. I want to plan it right so I'll need time. September sounded good enough. Mike H 22:26, Jul 25, 2004 (UTC)

That date's alright for me. I was going to volunteer but I can always do that over Thanksgiving break or something. I'm in St. Petersburg, so I'd love to attend. LockeShocke 17:05, Jul 25, 2004 (UTC)

I found these three places for suggestions on the Meetup site. I'm not 21 yet so I don't know if it'd be such a great idea to go to "that alcohol place." Can someone suggest anywhere else? I mean, even a restaurant like Outback or something. Mike H 14:55, Jul 26, 2004 (UTC)
  • Tampa Bay Brewing Company

1812 N 15 St, Ybor City, FL

  • The Blue Martini

2223 N. Westshore Blvd. #2000, Tampa, FL

  • Caffe Amaretto

5915 Memorial Hwy, Tampa, FL

I can get us a space at USF but that may not be as much fun as Ybor City

That actually sounds good. I don't know any places there so why not? Mike H 17:22, Aug 4, 2004 (UTC)
