The Semitic people are considered by scholars to consist of all those speaking Semitic languages: the Hebrew people [1] as well the Arabs, the Assyrians [2] and Akkadians [3].

Some anti-Semitic literature posits that almost all modern Jews are not Semitic at all but rather descendants of the Khazars alone. Some groups, including Christian Identity, claim that the Northern Europeans are the real Semites.
