Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam is an upcoming video game based on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Series. The game has been confirmed to be available exclusively for the Nintendo's Wii, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. It is a confirmed launch title for the Wii.

The game is a homage to Tony Hawk's favorite game of all time, Skate or Die!, a skateboarding game that takes place by going downhill from start to end.

Wii version

The version of Downhill Jam for Wii is being developed by Toys For Bob, who already developed Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure and Madagascar.

As opposed to older Tony Hawks games, the emphasis in Downhill Jam is not to go round a restrictive course seeing how many points you can rack up in 2 minutes. Instead your challenge is to get from the top of a hill to the bottom in the shortest time possible. This does mean using the full extent of the tricks to reach secret, alternative routes. This formula is similar to the Template:SSX series.

It has been confirmed that the Wii version will feature a multiplayer mode with four players competing head-to-head on one screen, however, they also stated that it would not have Wi-fi connection(on the Wii version). [1]

Characters

In the latest playable build of the game, there appeared to be nine characters to choose from (Although there appears to be 10 characters to choose from in the beginning, according to a recent video interview, found at Gametrailers.com[2]).

They included Tony Hawk himself, as well as eight other fictional characters, all seeming to be generic stereotypical characters. As of now, it seems all are unlocked from the start, with no word on any unlockable skaters.

Note: all stats are out of 10. They are the characters' basic stats, however the can be increased/decreased depending on which board model is chosen.

Nintendo DS version

The Nintendo DS version is being developed by Vicarious Visions, who gained much experience with the Tony Hawk franchise by adapting almost every previous version for Game Boy Advance and, with Tony Hawk's American Sk8land, also for Nintendo DS.

It has been confirmed that the Nintendo DS version will feature a multiplayer mode with up to 4 players using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

The DS version of this game is confirmed to have in-game voice chat, which is activated by pressing a button on the touch screen. Players will be able to talk for five seconds at a time.
