Miami (28°04′S 153°26′E) is a beach-front suburb on the southern end of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.Its local government area is Gold Coast City Council. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east, Nobby Beach to the north, Mermaid Waters to the north west, Burleigh Waters to the south west, and Burleigh Heads to the south. It has an area of just 3 square kilometres. It is 6km from Surfers Paradise, about 150km from Brisbane and about 15km from Coolangatta/Tweed Heads


Demographics

Miami is a predominantly residential suburb with commercial activity mainly confined to the Gold Coast Highway and some light industry around Christine Avenue. It has a population of 6,140 people, average salary of $32,700 and 7.2% unemployment.t.

Transport

The Gold Coast Highway passes right through Miami. The Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle also operates in Miami. The nearest train station is located at Robina. The Gold Coast Airport is approximately 12 km south of Miami.

Bus service

Miami has frequent local bus services to the north and south via the local bus network, Surfside Buslines. This includes the all night route 700 that runs between Tweed Heads and Southport. Miami has 3 bus stops located on either side of the Gold Coast Highway at: (1) the Ampol service station (aka "Brian's") near Dawn Parade; (2) nearMiami State High School; and (3) the Coles supermarket near Toombul Avenue. All stops are in Zone 15 of the South-East Queensland TransLink integrated public transport system. The nearest interchanges are in Burleigh Heads and Broadbeach at Pacific Fair.
