Biographical material

Born September 13,1969 in downstate New York, United States. Indeed my earliest years were spent in New York City. My main interests are in classical music (particularly lesser-known sorts) which influences what I am writing, though I did get my degree such as it was, in Maths. I spent several summers during my undergrad years at math programs, one of them studying topics in Matroids, which have continued to hold some interest for me. I tried that summer, in a REIU — research experience for undergraduates program — to invent and study something which turned out to be a special case of something that already existed, but that's how the cookie crumbles.

I'm also very much into a few other subjects and try to become knowledgeable about them, I may try at least to contribute to some discussions elsewhere.

A bit of additional.

Though it is very far from being the fact of my life, I suppose it also behooves a person to know that I have Asperger's Syndrome, a condition related to autism and manifesting in certain ways I guess I've yet to fully understand (strong fascinations/interests, specific deficiencies in social abilities and relations... it is probably a cause of my mannered writing and speech also. As an aside but to explain some of that — I take seriously the notion that much behavior is overdetermined, so I often hesitate or simply refuse to ascribe the cause and not for the sake of hesitation, either.)

Otherwise put, I neither fully repudiate nor fully blame my Aspie–ness for what goes on in my life. It's related. So are a lot of other things..
