Problem with the search engine

(Copied from Talk:Search engine optimization) I don't know it this is the right place to post this, but I have discovered a problem with the search engine when searching for "History of Greenland". The History_of_Greenland article doesn't show up, in fact I have to use Google to find the page, but it doesn't work either. The first hit is just the Greenland article, where I can access the History... article, but it's the error that's important.

Here's the story: If you type "History of Greenland" into Wikipedia's search and hit "Go", it will work, because there is such an article. However, wikipedia's "Search" option is currently disabled, pending availability of an additional server. Right now, it always reports failure and offers the Google & Yahoo searches. If Google has failed to do a good job of indexing a particular page... Well, it's unusual, but not under our control. -- Jmabel 01:08, 19 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot. --FePe 09:17, 19 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
