Jasmine
Appearance
Jasmine is a shrub of the genus Jasminum (about 300 species, Family: Oleaceae.), native to tropical and subtropical regions and widely cultivated. Jasmine flowers are well regarded for their sweet fragrance. Many types yield an oil, which is used in the production of perfumes.
Jasmine flowers are also used to make tea, which typically has a green tea base.
Jasmine is also the title of a 1989 novel by Bharati Mukherjee.
