Maladera matrida is a species of a beetle in the family Scarabaeidae.
Overview
Adult are active in the summer and in the spring, flying mostly in evening. Males can be seen flying in night searching after females. They are attracted to light.
Adults range in length from 7 to 9 mm, they color is brown-red.
They may cause damage to farmers: adults diet consists of leaves, buds and flowers of serval planets like, roses sweet potato and citrus trees.
The female lays between 60 to 100 eggs on the land in groups.
The larval form of M. matrida's live on the land. Thiers diet consists of roots and may cause a serious damage to crops like, sweet potato.
