I had no idea that there was a talk option at Wikipedia, and I only learned today that the piece that I wrote about Islam is posted here. I am absolutely delighted that I have an opportunity to reply to the two posters who commented my piece. 1) To Fkh82, you are among the few who have a clear sighted view and understand of the world around us, its unnessary complexities, and the unfortunate fact that there is a great number of people who are so blinded by their taught or self-developed hatred of others that they refuse to look over the fence to see that the noise is that of two opposing teams playing a game of soccer and not fighting and killing each other. I commend your unblurred vision of how things really are and who people really are despite the bellowing of the ignorant who choose to formulate a dismal opinion of the others that they simply do not undertand and also choose not to. Can it be a form of envy? Say, Islam envy? I can't say. I can say, however, that the Holy Quran, that others erroneously claim teaches hate, is quite the opposite. There is a wonderful verse in that wonderfully divinely revealed book that tel;ls us that God Almighty created humankind into different tribes and nations so that we will come to know one another, not to despise each other. It also says tells Muslims that among those who say they are believers, take the Christians as our friends because they are not attached to this world and are not arrogant. Muslims cannot claim to be Muslim if they do not believe that God also revealed the Torah to Jews and the Gospel to Christians. Is that hate teach? Those who have never read the Holy Quran would be inspired by its teachings, not moved to ridicule it. 2) To Politicallyincorrectliberal: Obviously you are among the ignorant whose knowledge about Islam can fit into a peanut shell and still have room for the peanuts. Every comment that you made was wrong, and every accusation was false. If you go to your local library and buy an inexpensive paperback copy of the Holy Quran you will conclude that you were in error. Briefly, you referred to Chapter Ishaq Verse 515 of the Holy Quran that mentions torture by fire and beheading. You will find that there is no such chapter. That was a fabrication by hate mongering persons who are not even smart enough to misquote an actual chapter, and they rely on the vast nukmber of people who will not bother to read that revelation to embue their hearts with lies and corrupt their minds with false accusations. Further, I am not given to long-winded rantinmg and raving, as you falsely accused. Islam is a religion that teaches and emphasises truth and peace, and you will have to provide accurate and verifiable sources to prove that I am incorrect. Peace to all who seek thr truth. Pity on those who refuse to do so. Beauty-is-Truth 10-21-06 (Yousef)
