Having performed brilliantly as a Lock with Llanelli, Delme Thomas toured three times with the Lions - or British Lions as they were known then - which was a measure of the man. He got his first cap in 1966 and went on to play for his country (Wales) on 25 occasions which was quite remarkable at the time due to the fact that there were many other outstanding Welsh second rows. He played his last game for Wales in 1974.
