AIK
Allmänna Idrottsklubben, usually called AIK, located at Solna, just north of Stockholm, is one of the oldest and largest sports associations in Sweden. Founded in 1891 in Stockholm by Isidor Behrens, the association has spawned numerous separate sections in different sports such as football, floorball, ice hockey, bandy, golf and handball. The club's full name roughly translates into the Common Sports Club, referring to Allmän idrott, which, in the early 1900s, used to be the Swedish term for athletics.
