De Queen is a city located in Sevier County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,765. The city is the county seat of Sevier County6.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.8 km² (5.7 mi²). 14.6 km² (5.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.23% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 5,765 people, 1,913 households, and 1,377 families residing in the city. The population density is 395.4/km² (1,024.7/mi²). There are 2,108 housing units at an average density of 144.6/km² (374.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 66.40% White, 6.07% Black or African American, 2.38% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 23.07% from other races, and 1.77% from two or more races. 38.59% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,913 households out of which 39.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.7% are married couples living together, 13.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% are non-families. 24.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
