Wushu (term)

Wushu (武術 Wu3 Shu4) literally means martial arts. It is the formal Chinese term for the better-known Kung Fu.

Chinese Wushu encompasses various, widely differing styles (a particular style is referred to as a kuen), due to their development in diverse geographic locations within China. These include:

A Master of a particular kuen is called a sifu in Cantonese, or shifu in Mandarin.
