Late Shri OP Jindal, former Member of Parliament, philanthropist, industrialist of Haryana had a vision of a progressive state where men and women would be equal to each other and in their equality lay the secret for the state's advancement.

The result of this vision was the birth of Vidya Devi Jindal School a girls residential school at Hissar in Haryana (India). It was the maiden venture of the Vidya Devi Jindal Rural Development Trust established in 1981 by Shri OP Jindal. The school became functional in July 1984 and was granted recognition by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the same year.

The motto of the school is enshrined in the Sanskrit words Vidya Jyoti Jeevan Jyoti which means 'the light of knowledge is the light of life'. All efforts are directed towards the achievement of this objective considering that education is a social vehicle, which must drive you to forge ahead and be a carriage for new ideas.

At VDJS a Residential School for Girls the medium of teaching is the English language. The school provides education that nurtures the traditions of our culture and also absorbs the finer influences of the west. It focuses on all round development of personality and thorough education of girls in order to make them conscientious and responsible citizens. More importantly, the school imparts the right values and norms of behavior, thus helping the girl students enhance their confidence and poise.

The school is set in restful and calm surroundings. The spacious campus boasts of an imaginative and inventively constructed academic wing, a utility block, a large auditorium, a health club, an infirmary, a dining hall with a seating capacity of 1000 students, an outdoor swimming pool, a roller skating rink and four hostels to accommodate 800 students. Accommodation for all members of the school too is provided on the campus itself.

At VDJS education is a great learning experience.

LOCATION Vidya Devi Jindal School is situated about 150 kms from New Delhi (India) on National Highway No. 10. The school is nestled between two towns - Hansi and Hisar. Every half an hour buses are plying to Hisar from Maharana Pratap Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Kashmiri Gate, New Delhi (Platform No. 26). At the time of boarding the bus, one must request the conductor to drop you right in front of the school.
