Marseille Provence Airport (IATA: MRS, ICAO: LFML) is an airport located 27 km northwest of Marseille, on the territory of the commune of Marignane, in the Bouches-du-Rhône département (so the airport is often called "Marignane"). It has been managed since 1934 by the Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI)

The airport's two terminals, international and national, are walking distance from one another. It is the 3rd French airport (excluding Paris) for passenger traffic and 2nd for cargo traffic. In 2005, the airport handled 5,859,480 passengers.[1]

Low cost airline Ryanair recently announced Marseille Provence Airport was to be the airline's 16th European base and the first Ryanair base in France. In September 2006 the airport opened its new low-cost terminal MP2.
