Jana Hawkes
Jana Hawkes is a fictional character in the US soap opera The Young and the Restless, portrayed since 2006 by actress Emily O'Brien.
Character
Jana was hired as an employee at Kevin Fisher's (Greg Rikaart) coffee house, Crimson Lights, and soon took over as manager. Over the last few months, Jana has bonded with Kevin and they are now dating. Jana is also spending time with Billy Abbott (Scott Seymour), much to Kevin's jealousy. Lauren Fenmore Baldwin recently offered Jana a job tending her son, Fenmore.
Jana's past is a mystery. She is British, and claims to have been both an au pair and a sky diving instructor before arriving in Genoa City. Her reasons for coming to America are unclear; she lives in a trailer, and loves the freedom this affords her. She is very intelligent and articulate. Jana is also extremely well-versed in art history, and was able to correctly identify the dynasty of a Chinese artifact owned by Katherine Chancellor simply by glancing at it. She is deeply wounded by wealthy people who act as though they deserve what they are born with. In combination with her obviously high education, many people suspect she may in fact be a minor member of the British nobility.
