  • Comment: On the one hand, the discussion on the talk page of the album did not provide a consensus on accepting an article on the song. On the other hand, this draft includes chart information that should be enough to satisfy musical notability. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:27, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment: This draft has been resubmitted without any visible improvement, or with very little improvement. If you do not know what is needed to improve this draft, please ask for advice at the Teahouse. If this draft is resubmitted without any improvement or with very little improvement again, it may be Rejected, or may be nominated for deletion, or a topic-ban may be requested.
This draft was declined on 12 March 2020 with the instruction to discuss at Talk:When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. The discussion there consists of one editor asking whether to accept an article on this song and one editor disagreeing, so that there is not a consensus to accept this draft. If there is further discussion resulting in a consensus, this draft may be resubmitted. If this draft is resubmitted tendentiously, without further discussion, it may be Rejected, and a topic-ban may be requested.
This draft does not appear to indicate which of the musical notability criteria is satisfied. If at least one of the criteria is satisfied, please revise this draft appropriately, with a reliable source, if necessary stating on the talk page which criterion is met, and resubmit.
You may ask for advice about the musical notability criteria at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:36, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment: If "8" was not released as a single how did it chart on various singles charts. I'm not arguing that it didn't chart but just trying to get an understanding about whether it was ever released as a digital or physical single. Dan arndt (talk) 01:23, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment: This draft is a request to spin off an article. Proposals to spin out a topic from an article into another stand-alone article should be discussed at the talk page of the existing article, unless the draft satisfies a special notability guide. If the draft satisfies a special notability guide, please identify the notability criterion with a reliable source.
This does not mean that the draft should be spun off, and it does not mean that the draft should not be spun off. It does mean that discussion should be on the talk page of the existing article, Talk:When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?]. (If this draft is resubmitted without discussion on the talk page of the existing article and does not satisfy a special notability guide, it may be Rejected or nominated for deletion.)
Please discuss song notability at either the talk page of this draft or the talk page of the album. It appears that most of the songs in the album have separate articles, but that does not mean that this song should be listed, and it does not mean that this song should not be listed. "8" is a song by American singer Billie Eilish from her debut studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. It was written by Eilish and were brother Finneas O'Connell. The song peaked at number 79 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[1] and number 52 in Canada. It is the only song in the album where Eilish plays the ukulele.

Composition

“8” is a song played on a ukulele that manipulates the singer’s voice to make her sound half her age.[2] In the lyrics, Eilish explains about a relationship that has run its course. It started off as a wall of protection for the guy, but now has turned into a solo fight by the girl to keep the relationship alive. The girl tries to maintain the relationship by communicating with him, but he is doesn't listen to her. So she decides to end the relationship because he has no gratitude towards her for helping him with a previous emotional disaster. She questions if he is capable of feeling anything. And how he could do the same things he made her promise not to do while they were together.[3] According Finneas in an interview with MTV, he states that: "The unique part of that song is that the reason her voice sounds like that is I just sped it up, and when you fast-forward anything, it speeds up that way, right? And then we recorded versions the way she normally sings to sort of balance it out. I guess it was a funny experiment that happened to work."[4]
