The reigning Maori Queen. Elected in 1966. The spelling varies between Te Atairangikaahu and Te Atairangi Kaahu. The official residence is Turongo House in Turangawaewae.

Her full name is Te Arikuini Te Atairangikaahu.

The office of Maori Queen holds no constitutional function, but the Te Atairangi Kaahu is an avid supporter of cultural and sporting events and commonly appears in a figurehead role at, locally held, international political events involving First Nation issues.
