Spryfield is a neighbourhood in Mainland Halifax, Nova Scotia. Although it is generally a middle-class residential area, has a reputation as one of the city's most undesirable neighbourhoods.

Although notorious for its crime, Spryfield's crime rate is in fact comparable to many other parts of the city. It is also seen by many as, alternately, a run-down redneck community, or as a Black ghetto, but neither of these descriptions are very accurate. For this reason, or possibly because of geographic and cultural separation, many residents of Peninsular Halifax do not acknowledge Spryfield as a part of Halifax at all. There is however, a strong sense of community in the neighbourhood, and the area's residents often refer to themselves as "sprys", some proudly, others subversively as a sarcastic joke.

The community is also seen as a poor and uneducated part of the city. While again not accurate this conception could soon become a reality, since the area's public schools are often neglected in favour of those in the Clayton Park/Park West area as well as those in South End Halifax. Partly in order to promote Spryfield's image, many attractive subdivisions are under construction in the area and the business district on Herring Cove Road, the area's arterial road, is being upgraded.
