Beneath a Steel Sky is a science fiction, more specifically cyberpunk, point and click adventure game with comedy elements, created by Revolution Software, and initially released in 1994 for DOS and Amiga.

The game's backgrounds, and a promotional comic book were designed by Dave Gibbons.

The game takes place at an unknown time in the future, where the earth has presumably been devastated by pollution or nuclear radiation and mankind (that we know of) is forced to live in domed cities. A young man who has lived in the wastelands is captured by stormtroopers from one of the cities. He manages to escape from his captors as the helicopter transporting him crashes just after entering the dome, leaving him and his robot friend "Joey" to find out why they were brought there and where to go next.

Society of the city (possibly in Australia) is a cross between Terry Gilliam's Brazil and Orwell's 1984.

In August 2003, the game was released as freeware and support for it was added to ScummVM, allowing it to be played on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Windows CE, and other compatible operating systems. The datafiles for both the disk and CD version are available from the ScummVM website.
