Well, time for a new introduction.

I came to wikipedia about a year ago to write about Northern Minnesota, otherwise known to natives of this most glorious state as "paradise on earth" (unfortunatly inhabited by our state bird). However, last summer, I realized that the ancient Egpyt stuff was pretty sparse, so I began going after the 18th Dynasty to sparse it up, and as of the day I'm writing this, we now have our first featured article being displayed on the main page.

I am a college student studying Ancient and Classical Languages and History. I started with the Classical Language and the Ancient History, and now I'm into the Classical history and the Ancient Language. My training thus far has led me to some strong opinions about how things should be, but since several of them are contrary to the established majority position, I have had to develop the ability to write from another entierly different perspective than my own, which, I believe, is an extremely good skill to aquire.

So far the 18th dynasty pages seem pretty free of the nonsense that so often infests wikipedia, and hopefully someday those articles can be a bulwark, showing how history ought to be written.

For your amazing work on the article Ahmose I, which passed both GA and FA without a single oppose, I award you the Tireless Contributor barstar. Wear it with pride, for you most certainly deserved it! — Editor at Large(speak) 14:06, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Translations

My greek exegetical bones to pick:

  1. Houtos in Jn. 3:16 clearly is and has always been an adjective of manner, not magnitude. "so" with any other verb means "in this way" ("so let it be written, so let it be done").
  2. Anedia autou in Lk 11 means "shamefulness of [the deed]"

Books I've translated

  1. Romans 1-11
  2. I John
  3. II John
  4. III John
  5. Jude
