David Baramidze is a prominent Georgian politician and the country's acting Prime Minister. He was defence minister until a cabinet shake-up in December 2004, when President Mikhail Saakashvili put him in charge of integrating Georgia with NATO, the European Union and the West.

He was appointed to the post of prime minister on February 3 2005, following the untimely death of Zurab Zhvania.
