Supporters
A powerful native of Karin Tower lives at the base of Karin Tower with his son Upa. He is muscular, tall and a man of few words. He fends off Captain Yellow's men by himself, but he is later speared by Tao Pai Pai and killed. Son Goku avenges him by taking training from Karin and defeating Tao Pai Pai himself. When Shenlong is summoned again, Goku's wish is that Bora be brought back to life. In his next appearance, he assists Goku once more by throwing Yajirobe (with an injured Goku on his back) up Karin's Tower. Bora is seen with his son (and several other natives) in the last couple episodes of DBZ when he gives energy to Goku for his Genki Dama. He also briefly appears in the episode "Piccolo's Decision" when Goku is with Upa. Bora is an example of the noble savage.
A brilliant inventor, she is Vegeta's wife, and mother of his children, Trunks and Bra. Bulma started Son Goku on the original quest for the Dragon Balls and is the ex-girlfriend of Yamcha.
Mrs. Briefs Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ
She is Bulma's mother (once wrongfully referred to as her older sister) and the wife of Dr. Briefs (sometimes translated as Dr. Brief). She is always interested in flirting with Goku and Vegeta. In the anime, she comments that she would like to go on a date with Vegeta. When Vegeta was offered a place to stay by Bulma - not long after Vegeta had tried to kill the Z Fighters - he was immediately welcomed in and taken aback by Mrs. Brief; the shock of someone being so pleasant to him almost overwhelmed him.
Not much is known about her, but in the anime she's characterized as the archetypical blonde airhead who loves shopping and eating expensive cakes. Probably the most special feature of this woman is the fact that, as far as physical appearances go, she looks at least as young as her daughter, and unlike Bulma, she doesn’t appear to age at all throughout DBZ.
Mrs. Brief's first name is unknown, though the name 'Bunny' has become popular for her in fanfiction. In an interview, Toriyama stated that if was to give Bulma's Mother a name, it would be Panty (which stays true the underwear-motif of her relatives).
Friendly and talkative, Mrs Brief is seen mostly at home. She loves to have company and entertain guests. And she only opens her eyes once in the entire series (episode 125). Mrs. Brief isn't much of an important character, but she's a painfully sweet and good-natured woman, apaprently unaware of the danger that is usually happening.
During the Majin Buu Saga, she and her husband are targeted at Capsule Corp. by Buu after someone informs Babidi where Trunks lives. This is the first and only time Trunks refers to her as "grandma" in the series. She makes no appearance at the end of DBZ, DBGT or in Future Trunks timeline.

The father of Bulma, Dr. Briefs (sometimes translated as Dr. Brief) is a gray-haired, brilliant and eccentric scientist and one of the smartest men in the world. Dr. Briefs is the founder of Capsule Corporation and the man responsible for the invention of the Hoi-Poi Capsules, which can shrink inanimate objects down to pocket sized capsule of namesake. He is easy-going and friendly. Dr. Briefs rarely leaves his home, even if he knows he'll die (in the Buu saga, he and his wife refuse to leave their pets even after Capsule Corp. has been specifically targeted for destruction; they know they can always be wished back) and he can often be found tinkering on a number of complicated gadgets while surrounded by his beloved pets. He and Bulma fixed Jinzō'ningen #16 during the Cell Saga, showing off their technical know-how; he also heavily modified and improved Goku's spaceship, and created a gravity room for Vegeta to train in. Usually Dr. Briefs is seen with a cat on his shoulder and a cigarette in his mouth (which has been edited out in the early dub). As Bulma's father, it is his knack for hi-tech wizardry that has been passed on to her. It is rumored that Trunks inherited his purple hair from him (Because the anime version of Bulma has bright blue hair. In the manga she actually has purple hair as well). In GT, Trunks reluctantly takes his place as the President of Capsule Corp, assuming he passed away or finally retired. It should be noted that Dr. Briefs named his only daughter Bulma, a pun on Bloomer.
Grandpa Son Gohan Template:Appears in:DB
The adoptive father of Son Goku who found him in a space ship when he was a baby. Gohan was taught martial arts by Muten-Rōshi and passed on his knowledge on to Goku.

Despite his threatening sounding name, the Ox King is really quite harmless and fun loving. He was somewhat demonic when his castle became engulfed in flames on Mount Frypan and wreaked havoc through the village at the foot of the mountain. He is Chi-Chi's father and thus Son Goku's father-in-law. He is very strong and trained along-side Grandpa Gohan under Muten-Rôshi's tutelage. As the series goes he becomes less and less of an important character and eventually fades into being a background character. He is the Grandfather of Son Gohan and Son Goten. In the anime, he has a few large roles though from time to time, mainly involving keeping his daughter out of trouble.
Living on Fry-Pan Mountain, the Ox King would either scare or eat anything that came along, due to the fact that his castle was stuck up on the mountain in eternal flames. Bulma, Gokū and Oolong stumble upon Ox King and Chi-Chi on their quest for the Dragon Balls. They agree to help him, and Gokū brings back Muten Rōshi, the only one strong enough to break the barrier. Muten Rōshi fires a large Kamehameha at the wall of fire, and destroys it. However, the Kamehameha is so big that it takes the entire mountain with it. After Muten Rōshi blew the mountain and castle away, the Ox King promised to not hurt anyone again. Although his castle is gone, Ox King and Chi-Chi shrug it off and vow to build a new one. After Gokū finds Chi-Chi, who had been missing, and returns her to her father, Ox King offers her to Goku as a wife in gratitude of her safe return. Not knowing what a wife is, Gokū agrees. As anime filler, many years later, Chi-Chi is 18 and Ox King wants to make sure that she will get a good husband who can take care of her, so he makes a fighting contest with Chi-Chi as the prize. Gokū loses the contest on purpose, but Chi-Chi beats up his opponent so that he still wins the prize — Chi-Chi. After losing his mansion and treasure on Frypan Mountain, he gives up being a warrior; and, although he is still huge, is more visibly friendly. In Dragon Ball Z, he appears in the anime more frequently throughout the sagas, usually seen at home trying to calm Chi-Chi down.
After Chi-Chi marries, the Ox King begins visiting very often, giving the impression that he is never at his own home! While normally spoiling the children rotten he also taught Gohan and Goten various school studies, while also protecting Chi-Chi. In the end of the DBZ series, he is appears at the tournament cheering his great-granddaughter, Pan on.
In Dragon Ball GT, the Ox King no longer appears to visit the Son Family as regularly as he did before, or maintain his role of calming Chi-Chi down, which is now done mostly by Videl. He only makes cameo appearances in episodes 31, "Collapse From Within" and 40, "Piccolo's Decision".
On the one hand, Launch is a sweet and friendly young woman;on the other, she is a tough, fiery, rude, and, uncontrollably angry warrior. Launch has a split personality. She has a nice side, and a trigger-happy alter ego. When she sneezes, it causes her to change personalities. You can tell Launch's two different personalities apart because her hair and clothing change along with her mood too.

A 9-year-old girl that lives in Jingle Village in the beginning of the series. She rescues Son Goku from the freezing weather that he isn't accustomed to when his plane crashes in the cold northern region. After the Red Ribbon Army saga, she appears later mostly in the anime when Piccolo Daimaō destroys a town's celebrations and she was to give the King some flowers. She reappears later on in DBZ when Goku asks for energy. In DBGT, she makes her final appearance on the episode Piccolo dies in as well as her companion Jinzō'ningen #8 (8-chan / Hat-chan). It is important to note that, not only are her subsequent appearances not canon to the original manga (except in Bu saga), but that she is only given a name in the anime as well.
This little Indian accompanies Son Goku for a short time in order to recover all of the Dragon Balls so they can wish his father, Bora, back to life. Upa is a member of the Indian tribe who serve as the guardians of Karin Tower. His father is the chief, however, the rest of the tribe is not seen until the end of the manga. He participates in the fight against Uranai Baba's thugs and helps to defeat Dracula Man (a kickboxing expert) with garlic breath. At the end of the DBZ anime and DB Manga, he is shown giving energy to Goku's Genki Dama. Upa and his father also make a cameo in GT on the episode Piccolo's Decision. When Kuririn first meets Upa, he thinks that Upa is a girl.

Red Ribbon Army
The Red Ribbon Army is a paramilitary organization led by diminutive Commander Red. The stated goal of Red Ribbon Army was to obtain the Dragon Balls and wish to rule the world, yet Commander Red secretly planned to wish to be taller. The Red Ribbon Army used any means necessary to obtain the Dragon Balls, which was often manifested in ruthless, violent actions.
When Assistant Black found out about Commander Red's real plan, he killed the Commander and took control of the Red Ribbon Army, re-naming it the Black Ribbon Army. Soon after, Goku destroys the entire Black Ribbon Army, killing Black with it. Most Red Ribbon Army characters are named after a color. Most of the Red Ribbon Army are human, with the exception of Captain Yellow. You can see him on the animal character page.
Colonel Violet Template:Appears in:DB
The only female high-ranking officer in the Red Ribbon Army. She appears in the end of the saga, and is one of the only officers who doesn't have to combat Goku and his friends.
Commander Red Template:Appears in:DB
The leader of the Red Ribbon Army. He is extremely short with red hair and an eye patch. He utilizes his army to obtain the seven Dragon Balls for his own greedy wish. His underlings are under the impression that Red will use the Dragon Balls to wish for world domination (whether Red actually deceives them this way or if they simply assumed this is unknown). However, during Son Goku's storming of the Red Ribbon HQ, Red reveals to his servant, Assistant Black, that he was going to wish to be taller. Black is stunned by the news and shoots Red in the forehead out of contempt, assuming command of the Red Ribbon Army. It should be noted that Goku never met Red Ribbon's mastermind.
The character designs for Commander Red and Assistant Black were reused by Toei for a pair of movie directors that appeared in an episode filler of the Great Saiyaman Saga. This has brought up speculations that Red and Black have reincarnated, or they could be twin brothers related to them (a wilder theory is that they are clones or androids).
In Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 the Dragon Arena is hosted by him, he has a band-aid on his forehead, in the exact same position where Black shot him, citing an in-joke.
Colonel Silver Template:Appears in:DB
The first member of the Red Ribbon Army that Son Goku encounters and battles. By normal means, he is a good fighter since he said ("I expected more of a challenge from professional boxers"), but Goku takes him out in no time in the desert. He is not killed by Goku though, only KO'ed. Last heard of him in the manga was him reporting to Commander Red that he failed and Red declaring him a dead man. In the anime, he is discharged for his failure and walks out of the Red Ribbon Army - one of the few who does so and lives.

The creator of Android 8. In the anime, Toei Doga this doctor was added into the story in order to showcase the mastermind behind Android 8's creation, bearing in mind that Dr. Gero was yet to be created as a character in the Android Saga and be the one true person behind the android creation.
General Blue Template:Appears in:DB, DBGT
The leader of the Blue Corps., General Blue is the most powerful officer in the entire Red Ribbon Army. He is immensely skilled at battle and he also has powerful psychic abilities, but is incredibly vain. He trails Son Goku and company into the pirate's cave, and almost kills Kuririn and Goku. Luckily for them, he fears mice, and loses his concentration when one startles him. During the battle, Bulma tries to distract him by wiggling her buttocks at him, but it only makes Blue show his disgust and dislike of girls, revealing that he is a homosexual. Goku knocks him out afterwards. He somehow survives the collapse of the pirate's lair, and trails our heroes to the Kame House, where he is successful in stealing the Dragon Radar and Dragon Balls. Goku catches up with him in Penguin Village, and Arale helps him defeat the General. Although successful in stealing the radar, he fails to get the Dragon Balls, which ultimately costs him his life. Commander Red gives him a chance to redeem himself by fighting Tao Pai Pai, the merciless assassin. Tao Pai Pai easily kills Blue, using nothing but his tongue to puncture Blue's temple. He makes a cameo in Dragon Ball GT as one of the villains escaping from hell.
General Copper Template:Appears in:DB
General Copper (Kappa in Japanese) is never seen in the manga or anime, but is mentioned in both. He commands Colonel Silver, Captain Yellow, and Colonel Violet of the Red Ribbon Army, with orders universal to all Red Ribbon officers: find the Dragonballs. Since this officer was never seen, some Red Ribbon Army fans on DeviantArt.com have joked that he has self-esteem so low that he couldn't bare to join the army in a visible form, and is more or less the wind that blows during dramatic stand-offs and serious moments.
General White Template:Appears in:DB
In charge of Muscle Tower, he commands Android 8, Sergeant Metallic, Ninja Murasaki, and Buyon. He speaks with a French accent in the English anime. He had a Dragonball that Son Goku wanted, and he hurt and enslaved many people in the village outside of the Tower. This made Goku upset, so he went to go fight him. After Goku had defeated every person in the tower, he went after White. White held the mayor captive and threatened to kill the mayor if need be. Goku did not move one bit, but he was the one that got shot anyway. After Goku fell, White tried to fire again, but Android 8 blocked it. Android 8 went into a rage and charged White. He then blew White out of the tower, sending him to a snowy grave.
Lieutenant Green Template:Appears in:DB
The overweight Lieutenant under General Blue's command. He carries a whip and is almost as strict and militant as General Blue in all fields, except for his diet. The company assumes that Muten Rōshi is the creator of the Dragon Radar. He is sent to retrieve information from Muten Rōshi along with his company, but he meets an unfortunate end when Muten Rōshi proves to be more than he can handle. Muten Rōshi takes out his entire squadron when they confront him on his small island. When the message of their defeat is relayed, General Blue is surprised to hear that the whole company was wiped out. His name was not given in the original manga, but he is known as either Lieutenant Green or Lieutenant Captain Dark.
Sergeant-Major Purple Template:Appears in:DB
The deadly ninja of a thousand techniques who works under the command of General White in Muscle Tower. Purple is of Japanese origin and has four identical brothers (he's the eldest). Son Goku's fight with Purple is classic. It mixes classic ninja techniques, with Goku's kooky style of repelling them, (such as pouring boiling water down a reed Purple uses to breathe with under-water). Purple is simply punched out by Goku in the manga, but in the anime, he gets blown up by the bomb from android 8's body. However he may have survived. His extended full name is "Sergeant Major Silent Ninja Purple Murasaki".
Agent Black Template:Appears in:DB, DBGT
(English dub: Staff Officer or Assistant Black) Commander Red's personal aid and the second-in-command in the entire Red Ribbon Army. He is the most visible black man in the Red Ribbon Army to play a major role. He obeys just about everything he is told to do, until he finds out Red's true ambition, at which point he shoots Red and takes over the Red Ribbon Army. He finds himself in a battle against Son Goku in the RR's top-secret weapon, the Battle Jacket. After a difficult fight, Goku kills Black by propelling himself straight through the robotic armor, causing it to explode and ending his short throne time. In the edited version of the anime, Black's gun is not seen so a viewer wouldn't know how Red died. Black appears once again in GT during the Super 17 saga talking to General Blue.
He was changed to be Hispanic-looking in the Dragon Ball movie, The Path to Power.
Brown Template:Appears in:DB
Only mentioned in the anime and referred to by Silver in the manga, this officer has no rank, but unlike Copper, there's something to draw off of in terms of personality. In the anime, Silver had just flushed out Emperor Pilaf's flying fortress, which had been hidden underground, and was requesting to Black via radio communicator for reinforcements. Black said to sit tight and wait, and that he'd send in Brown's army. Literally thousands of jets appear soon after (not all of them can be Silver's, as if he had that many jets he wouldn't have called for backups in the first place), who swarm the fortress.

Hasky Template:Appears in:DB
A master thief that could only do the most impossible tasks, Hasky was hired by the Red Ribbon Army to steal the two Dragonballs that Son Gokū had with him; yet, ultimately failed. She appears in the anime only.
Mai is Emperor Pilaf's female half-wit follower. She always works with Shū and although she's pretty bright (more so in Funimation's dub), they both always manage to screw stuff up. She's a beautiful, calculating, and formidable opponent.
An officer of King Gurumes' army that uses heavy weaponry to get the job done. He tries to keep Son Goku from coming into the King's Palace, but he is easily taken down. While inside the palace, he is stepped on and flattened by King Gurumes.

One of King Gurumes's officers that collects the Dragon Balls for him. Once she finds Son Goku's Dragon Ball, they only have one more to go. She is a very greedy lady that just wants to get her hands on some Rich Stones. She is never seen again, after the Rich Stones go away. She looks very similar to Lunch's evil form.
Jaga Bada Template:Appears in:DB Movie
A "villain" also known as "Lord Jaguar" in the English dub from DBZ the Movie #11, Super-Warrior Defeat!! I'm the One who'll Win, who wants revenge on his old classmate Mr. Satan for beating him in martial arts when he was a kid. He funds experiments that create Bio-Warriors, including Bio-Broly. On the left Dr. Kori ("Kori Hakase"), a scientist who assists in the creation of Bio-Broly.

He's a scientist who makes experiments inside the bioengineering laboratory owned by Jagar Badda, in DBZ the Movie #11.
Tsuru-Sen'nin Template:Appears in:DB
Tsuru-Sen'nin (Crane Sage) is the older brother of Tao Pai Pai, and master to Tenshinhan and Chaozu. In the FUNimation dub, he is given the additional name of Master Shen. In an early Harmony Gold English dub from the 1980's, he is known as Lord Wu Zu.
He was once comrades with Muten Rôshi and studied under the same Martial Arts school. However, they were defeated by the evil forces of the Demon King Piccolo and their mentor and sensei Mutaito-sama died after sealing the demon away. Over time, bitterness and resentment began to grow in his heart and he eventually turned away from his master's old teachings and began a school where his hatred of the world began to spread among his pupils.
In the 22nd Tenka-ichi Budōkai, he entered his two star pupils, Tensinhan and Chaozu to counter Roshi's pupils, Goku, Kuririn, and Yamcha.
After Tenshinhan and Chaozu left him, he had his deceased brother Tao Pai Pai rebuilt back to life as a cyborg (Tao was blown up by his own grenade that Goku kicked back at him), and had him enter in the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budōkai to exact revenge on both Tenshinhan and Goku. Tenshinhan, however, easily knocks out Tao with a punch and warns Tsuru-Sen'nin that he never wants to see both of them again.
Tsuru-Sen'nin is briefly mentioned in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 by Roshi and Tao.
Roshi: "Did that old crane geezer put you up to this?"
Tao: "Whether he did or not, you're still about to die!"

The unwilling villain from DB the Movie #1, The Legend of Shenlong. He is a normal person who became corrupt when he discovered the Rich Stones that made him have a ceaseless hunger and transform into a mutated monster.
Minor
Angela Template:Appears in:DBZ
She is one of Gohan's classmates at Orange Star High School. She develops a crush on Gohan, and also finds out a secret of his. Gohan believes she knows he is the Great Saiyaman, so he goes on a date with her, so she will keep the secret. But the only thing she knows is that he wears teddy bear underwear! They break up soon after.
Chao is a member of a village that is terrorized by Terror and Plague. When she is saved by Goku, she recruits him to help him save their village. She develops a crush on Goku, but is short-lived, as she and Goku never meet again.
Karoni Template:Appears in:DBZ
Also known as Caroni in the English dub, he is one of Mr. Satan's pupils who tries to beat Cell in the Cell Games. Cell doesn't even bother trying to fight him. He sends Karoni flying straight into the air and when he hits the ground, he makes a cartoon-ish hole shaped like him. Karoni is a very vain individual who's very popular with the ladies and prides himself on his swiveling hips. He also raises a bouquet of flowers and declares that they are for Cell's funeral. (Anime Only)
King Kuruesu Template:Appears in:DB
The ruler of a kingdom that was constantly under siege by Shula's demons. During Goku's trip around the world, he is recruited by Kuruesu to save the king's daughter Miisa from the demons.
Maron Template:Appears in:DBZ
Maron is an anime-only character who first appears in the Garlic Jr. saga as Kuririn's girlfriend. She is very ditzy (always calling Kuririn "Kurin"), uncommitted, and out-spoken, referring to Chi-Chi and Bulma as old ladies which frustrated and angered them. She looks similar to Bulma and many people confuse the two, but both have very different traits, most notably Maron's figure being slightly curvier and Bulma being a staple character to the series, as opposed to Maron only being around for one arc and making a single appearance in the Cell Saga. As Kuririn is about to propose to her on a beach, she leaves with a guy in a red sports car. During the Cell Saga, she shows up at the Kame House looking for Kuririn saying that he was the only guy she ever loved. After a while she gets bored and takes off with a bunch of boyfriends never to be seen again. The manga writer Akira Toriyama stated, however, he did not name Kuririn's daughter after his old flame. Since Marron, like Kuririn, means "chestnut," it is likely that this is a case of the same pun being used by both Toriyama and the anime filler writers.

A large family of twelve members that Goku meets. They are all named after different kinds of desserts. Most significant among them is the grandfather, Karinto (fried dough cake), who teaches Goku to be "quiet like the sky". (Anime Only)
Princess Miisa Template:Appears in:DB
The young daughter of King Kuruesu and Queen Hi. She was kidnapped by a demon hiding in her mirror and brought to Shula's realm. She is returned home when Goku defeats Shula in combat. (Anime Only)

Also known as Piroshki in the English dub, he is one of Mr. Satan's students who "competes" against Cell in the anime. He's a large guy with the power of a wild boar, but he obviously doesn't stand a chance against Cell. (Anime Only)
Mr. Satan's sexy promotional agent who makes announcements for him and basically tells everyone how wonderful Mr. Satan is. She only appears in the anime during the Cell Games Saga.
Pocawatha Template:Appears in:DB
Pocawatha is a girl in the village that was terrorized by Oolong. She was the next target for Oolong when Goku and Bulma came along. Goku dresses up as Pocawatha, but it doesn't work. He later defeats Oolong, and gains a one time crush on Pocawatha. However, like Chao, he never sees her again.

Queen Hi is the wife of King Kuruesu. She recruits Goku to save her daughter Miisa from Shula's demons. (Anime Only)
Gohan saves this girl from a river during the 10 days before the Cell Games. While saving her, he accidentally grabbed her breasts, and she runs off. Later Gohan arrives in her village to find a rich man building a shelter to save himself from Cell. Cyborg Tao Pai Pai is working as the rich man's bodyguard.

Palace is a teenaged brunette girl that Son Goten asks out on a date when he's left behind on the search for the Black Star Dragonballs. She is very naive, but seems sincerely interested in Goten as a boyfriend. Last seen when Goten lost the fight against teenaged Bebi. Does appear briefly later on, beside Goten again. When she sees his Super Saiyan abilities at work, she believes that he may be an angel.
Palace's name has been the subject of debate since before DBGT was licensed, when it was often mangled in fansubs. It is a pun on Goten's name, which is revealed when we examine the kanji. Goten is spelled with the kanji 悟天. He inherits 悟(go) from his father, but whereas the 空(ku) in "Goku" means "sky", the 天(ten) in "Goten" means "heaven." However, goten is also a normal word when spelled with the kanji 御殿, which means "palace." The original spelling of Palace's name is Paresu, which is how one pronounces "palace" in Japanese. A common misconception is that her name is Paris. This is incorrect, as the Japanese spelling for Paris (as in the city) is merely "Pari", thus matching the French pronunciation.
She's a character appearing in DBZ the Movie #10 The Dangerous Duo! Super-Warriors Can't Rest. Coco is a kid living in Natade Village who decides to sacrifice herself to calm the monster that terrorizes her village. Actually the monster is a big dinosaur and it will be Videl, Son Goten and Trunks that see the thing by themselves, before they meet the much more powerful legendary Super Saiyan Broly.

The former richest man in the world (second to the Briefs), Gyosan Money organizes a Tenka-ichi Budōkai for his son Dollar's 10th birthday. He even manages to pay Mr. Satan to appear at the budōkai.
Natade Shaman Template:Appears in:DB Movie
(Maloja) He's a character of DBZ the Movie #10. Inhabitants of Natade Village believe him a sorcerer who can help them to calm the giant monster that terrorizes the Village. He is usually seen performing ridiculous rituals involving gibberish incantations such as "Oombachama Jatchama Yayakoni Totsama!" which the villagers blindly place their faith in. He appears again in the next DBZ the Movie #11, Super-Warrior Defeat!! I'm the One who'll Win, where we see him inside the Palace of the rich Jagar Badda. He meets his end when the bio-fluid catches up to him whilst he is stealing a vast amount of money.

One of North Kaiō's fighters in the Northern Quadrant. In fact, he came from Earth and is said that most of Earth's heroic legends, as well as a few cartoons, are based on him. He lost in the semifinals of the Ano-Yo-ichi Budōkai to Paikuhan, but is comparable with him in terms of power and skills. He appears in the anime only.
The bully of Son Goku Jr.'s school, that joins Goku Jr. on his journey, for the Si Xing Qiu (Sūshinchū / Four-Star Ball). They become good friends on the way and help each other out. They also play tricks on each other, every once in a while. When they escape from Manba, he falls off of a bridge, but is found out to be ok at the end.

Erasa is a blonde girl in Son Gohan's class at Orange Star High School who has a bit of a crush on him, but never directly approaches him about it. She sits right next to him. Erasa becomes pretty good friends with both Videl and Gohan. After the Buu saga her whereabouts are unknown. She and her brother were named after school supplies, with her named being derived from eraser.

At the beginning of the series in Dragon Ball Z, Raditz's space pod crashes on his property. The frightened farmer quickly rushes to investigate. He tries to intimidate the Saiyan away from his property and fires at him with his shotgun, but fails as Raditz merely catches the bullet with ease. He casually flicks it from his fingertips back at the farmer, killing him instantly. He's killed by Raditz in the manga, but in the edited dub of the anime, he is spared and can be seen from time to time in filler episodes. He is known as one of the only normal humans in DragonBall with a known power level, at 5, with shotgun.

During the time when Fat Buu is starting to settle down with Mr. Satan, a very sick man stops caring about life and goes around killing people for sport. He and his partner are responsible for the creation of Super Buu. They chance upon Fat Buu while he's playing catch with Bee and shoot the puppy. Mr. Satan locates the two and beats them up, then goes back to Fat Buu who heals the puppy instantly. But then they return and shoot Mr. Satan. Fat Buu heals Mr. Satan, but his anger explodes and Evil Buu is released from his anger. Evil Buu then blasts the man into a million pieces with a point-blank ki blast.

Banzan's fat, British partner. He occasionally shoots people and stuff too. He has one of the most horrible deaths in DBZ. Super Buu liquefies and shoots himself down the guy's throat, then expands, blowing him up.

A fat rude woman. She boasts about how her sons will defeat both of Bulma and Chi-Chi's children, and when both of her children lose pathetically, she absolutely flips out, but Chi-Chi knocks her lights out. She later reveals the location of Trunks' hometown to Babidi, but Babidi was annoyed by her and killed her.
Jingle Village Chief Template:Appears in:DB
The kind leader of Sno's village, the Village Chief has become the hostage of General White. Unless his villagers uncover a Dragon Ball soon, he will meet terrible fate, compliments of the General. Despite his dire situation, the Village Chief thinks only of his people, and would do anything, even sacrifice himself, to relieve them of their suffering at the hands of the Red Ribbon Army.

Mutaito is Muten Rôshi and the Tsuru-Sen'nins' teacher. He successfully seals Piccolo Daimaō in the Denshi Jar with his Mafūba technique, but in invoking the attack, he dies from the severe exhaustion of using the move. In the anime, Son Goku actually meets Mutaito and he's the first person in the series to teach Goku about controlling his "ki". In fact, he's the first person to even mention the word, which soon becomes the explanation for the incredible energy techniques used throughout all of the Dragon Ball series. (Throughout the original manga and Japanese anime the phrase "chi" or its Japanese equivalent "ki" are very common)

Sharpner attends Orange Star High School with Gohan. He torments Son Gohan for a bit in school, but later befriends him after witnessing his athletic prowess. Sharpner likes Videl who also attends Orange High School. He is very athletic and likes to work out, yet it seems he does not do any martial arts practice. When we first meet Sharpner he devotes most of his time to finding out who the Great Saiyaman is during the 25th Tenka-ichi Budōkai. He later discovers that Gohan is the Great Saiyaman and is disappointed that the answer was right under his nose. Like Erasa, his fate is unknown after the Buu saga. He and his sister were named after school supples, with Sharpner's name coming from the word sharpener.
The alias that Kami enters the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budōkai under. He possesses the body of a typical nerdy-looking guy to disguise himself so that he can defeat Piccolo (Ma Jr.) under the public eye. His name is a pun on the first part of the Earth dragon's name, Shenlong, and it means "God" (the second part means "dragon"). Kami enters the budōkai with his soul in the body of a nerd in order to defeat Piccolo. Kami does this because Mr. Popo told Son Goku that if Piccolo dies so does Kami so Kami is afraid Goku will not kill Piccolo. Kami tries to defeat Piccolo using the "Mafūba" but it back fires and Shen is nearly caught in a bottle, but Kami refuses to sacrifice the human and leaves the body before it is caught. The human awakens with no memory of the events and finds himself receiving cheers of "good fight" and "nice try" from the crowd. Believing that he had gone on a severe sake binge, he flees in embarrassment, only to run into his son, who is so proud of his dad, the great warrior.

Yamhan is the fantasy fusion of Yamcha and Tenshinhan in Budokai 2. This fusion uses the Fusion Dance.

The announcer for the Cell Games and a completely dumb man with a New English accent. At first, this announcer believes that Mr. Satan is the strongest fighter in the world and goes on praising him and his students like any other civilian left in the dark about those with powers. Over the course of the Cell Games, though, after the awakening of Gohan's SS2 power messes up all the broadcasting equipment, he seems to catch on to the fact that Gohan and the rest of the Z-Fighters are far more skilled than Hercule. However, in the end, he "believes" Mr. Satan's story about having defeated Cell (only out of convenience, since the Z-Fighters and Cell are all gone from the area, and he never clearly saw the actual end result) and helps him to deceive the people of Earth into believing that Mr. Satan defeated Cell.

He is one of Baba's strongest fighters. He has the unusual ability to make people explode into pieces by expanding the evil inside of their heart; apart from that, his skill as a fighter is unbelievable, having won the World Martial Arts Tournament twice in the past. He gave Goku a run for his money and tried to blow him to shreads, but unfortunately for him, he didn't know that Goku had a pure heart. He returns in DBZ to give his energy to Goku's Super Spirit Bomb. Some fans consider him to perhaps actually be strong enough to take on characters such as Vegeta and Frieza due to his ability; however it could also be possible that either his power does not work on those with a higher power level to his and/or that such characters like the ones mentioned, while vulnerable to such power; they would be quick enough to dodge it. It is also estimated that his power would not have any critical effect on Cell and Majin Buu, as if yet they explode; they can easily regenerate themselves and it would certainly not have any effect at all with full mechanized characters such as Android 16, since they are not living beings at all.

He is one of Baba's ghostly fighters. This kickboxing vampire first fights Krillin and manages to suck his blood. Krillin breaks free but loses by ring out. Then Fangs fights Puar & Upa. They don't seem to stand a chance until Upa eats a bunch of garlic & starts breathing on Fangs. He fights back by trying to bite Puar. Puar turns into a porcupine seconds before and Dracula Man gets a mouth full of needles. Upa gets into a stance that resembles a cross. This freaks Fangs out so he turns into a bat and tries to escape. Puar quickly turns into a giant hand a slaps Fangs out of the ring.
Fangs appears to make a brief appearance in the anime of DBZ during the Android Saga as a member of the biker gang that chases the Androids while they're riding around in their van.
Invisible Man Template:Appears in:DB
He is one of Baba's fighters. Yamcha volunteers to fight next and is surprised to learn that his opponent is an invisible man. Because he can't see him, Yamcha spends most of this fight getting slapped around. Goku nabs Bulma and Master Roshi, then he has Krillin swipe off Bulma's top, thus exposing what she was graciously endowed with. Seeing this, Master Roshi suffers from his biggest nose bleed ever and covers the invisible man in blood making him possible to see and thus tangible. In FUNimation's edit-dub this was changed: Krillin sends Goku off to get Master Roshi and a can of tomato soup (with the help of a small piece of footage from Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle and tricky camera angles). When Goku returns Master Roshi throws the tomato soup onto the invisible man, making him visible. Now that Yamcha can see him, Invisible Man is easily defeated.
(FUNimation's dub: Bandages the Mummy Man)
Bandages was Baba's mummy fighter. He fought third, and his first competitor was Yamcha. Bandages defeated him, but was later defeated by Goku. He and Spike the Devil Man later return to give Goku their energy so he can defeat Majin Buu (thinking they were helping Hercule).
Humans from the Tenka-ichi Budōkai

The man who hosts every Tenka-ichi Budōkai from the beginning of Dragon Ball to the end of Dragon Ball Z. He mainly just commentates on the matches, but over the years he has become an acquaintance with the Z Warriors, and knows that they are responsible for saving the Earth. He even says so in one episode that they killed Cell (it was Gohan). He doubts Mr. Satan's abilities, such as in the episode Vegeta goes out of control. In every Budōkai, aside from the 21st, something bad happens that enhances his role: in the Piccolo Daimaō Saga he seen witnessing Kuririn being murdered and later he becomes very important as he witnesses Goku's fight with Piccolo (Ma Jr.) from the sidelines with the others, making him one of the few "civilians" to know the truth. At the end of DBZ, his age starts to show as he is losing hair and has very noticeable wrinkles, but in Dragon Ball GT his descendant's hair remains white. Although he doubts Mr. Satan for being the one who defeated Cell, he praises him in order to make fans cheer.

A huge filfthy competitor in the 21st Tenka-ichi Budōkai who has never washed or brushed his teeth since the day he was born. He uses his stench as a weapon since his opponents need to hold their noses closed, so he can attack them better. All of his special attacks are disgusting and range from spitting on his victim, to touching them with sweat from his groin. Kuririn almost loses to him, until Son Goku reminds Kuririn that he's just imagining the smell because he doesn't have a nose (A joke on Kuririn's drawn appearance). Which Kuririn quickly remembers and beats Bacterian almost instantly. Later, in the anime, it was revealed that he was homeless and living in a city dump. The anime also shows him being attacked and murdered by Tambourine, but came back to life due to the Dragon Balls.

A contender wanting to take part in the 21st Ten-kai'chi Budoukai, Bokusa was impressed with Son Goku's powerful strength for a kid. He lost to Goku in the preliminaries of the Tournament with one hit to his chest.

One of the many goofy, (yet muscle-bound), competitors in the 28th Tenka-ichi Budōkai. He's a man in a chicken suit; perhaps another one of Toriyama's take on over the top superheroes from western comics.

This is Muten-Rôshi's disguised alias when he enters Tenka-ichi Budōkai. He does this so his students see there are stronger fighters out there and so it encourages his students to train harder than ever before. It seems none ever truly knew that he was actually Muten Roshi, aside from Namu, Tsurusennin, and Tenshinhan. Clearly a pun on Jackie Chan, although never confirmed. His name is spelled as Jacky Chun in the English Dub.

A pretty-boy competitor who was runner-up in the recent 24th Tenkaichi Budōkai, he makes it to the final Battle Royale of the 25th Ten-kaichi Budoukai. He's knocked out instantly by Android 18.

A big buffed black man who participates in the Battle Royale at the end of the 25th Tenka-ichi Budōkai. He is KO'ed by Mighty Mask (Son Goten and Trunks). His role is minimal in the manga, but in the anime he has some plot-developing flashbacks. He was also a participant in the 24th Tenkaichi Budokai in the anime only.

A famed competitor known for his strength, he loses to Son Goku twice in the preliminary rounds of the 22nd and 23rd Tenka-ichi Budōkai. In the anime, he was the second victim to be attacked and murdered by Tambourine, but was revived due to the Dragonballs.

Also known as Nareg and has some looks for Jewel. Contender in the last Tenka-ichi Budōkai of Dragon Ball Z, Kirano was to face Captain Chicken. We never get to see what he is capable of, and don't know who won the match but also, Vegeta thought he was the one Goku was referring to be the strong man who would appear in that Tenka'ichi Budokai (when in reality, Goku was referring to Uub). Whoever won, lost the next match against Mr. Buu. However, after seeing Uub and Goku in battle, it seems Captain Chicken ran away and so giving up the tournament. He is eventually defeated by Buu.
Man-Wolf Template:Appears in:DB
A chubby werewolf fellow who tranforms into a man when he looks into a full moon. During his time as a werewolf, Jackie Chun completely destroyed the moon with a powered-up Kamehameha Wave in order to stop a rampaging Goku who transformed into an Oozaru. Man-Wolf was forced to live as a hideous wolf forever. In the next tournament, he tried to get his revenge by facing Chun. He is almost disqualified for using a pocket knife, but Chun lets him continue, and wins anyway by throwing a dog bone for Man-Wolf outside the ring and having him lose out of bounds. Afterwards, Chun cures his problem by substituting Kuririn's head for a full moon. In the anime, he was also killed by Tambourine, but restored by the Dragon Balls.
Mighty Mask Template:Appears in:DBZ
Mighty Mask is one of the finalists in the 25th Tenka-ichi Budōkai. Apparently, Mighty Mask did not fare well in the previous tenkaichi tournament. Although he never gets to fight in the competition as he is knocked out by Trunks before the Budōkai begins. Trunks and Son Goten then steal his costume and fight in the tournament as Mighty Mask.

"Wild Tiger". A bulky, Mongolian-looking fighter in the 28th Tenka-ichi Budōkai that thinks he will easily beat 4 year old Pan, but he gets knocked out instantly.
Namu first appears in the 21st Tenka-ichi Budōkai, fighting Ran Fuan. He has problems fighting her, because he is a Buddhist monk and she strips to her underwear, socks & shoes, but he overcomes and defeats her. His next fight is against Son Goku, and while it is an intense fight, he loses in the end. He competed because he needed the money to buy lots of water; where he was from, there was a terrible drought, and he had been sent to find a solution. Being defeated, however, he is unable to get the money to buy water and decides to leave. Muten Roshi reads his mind and gets acquainted with his intentions. He then gives him a capsule so that he can store water from a well, and in return, asks Namu to impersonate Muten Roshi in the crowd, as to protect Roshi's secret identity from his students, who were suspicious of Chun being Muten Roshi. In the 22nd Tenka'chi Budôkai, he also makes an appearance in one of its' anime filler, claiming to Goku and Roshi that this time he came to enjoy it, but he ends up losing to Tenshinhan on the preliminary rounds, as he was left unconscious and nearly killed as Tenshinhan wanted to leave a message to Goku and his friends. Later, he is killed by Piccolo Daimaō's minion, Tambourine. He is then revived by Shenlong. He is seen later in the DBZ series contributing to Goku's spirited bomb, and has a brief appearance in GT in the episode titled Piccolo's Decision. There are some rumors indicating that he might be related to Uub, but there is no confirmation.
Known as "Knock" in the English dub, he's a young punk Martial Artist who, in the first round of the tournament, is to fight Vegeta. During the warming up, Noku comes up to Vegeta and tells him about how he will lose and so on. So Vegeta, without even turning around punches Noku and sends him flying across the arena and into a wall. Noku forfeited the match.

He's to fight Trunks in the first round of the 28th Tenkai'chi Budōkai, and apparently loses. His name sort of means 'Likes men' (in fact, all one has to do is add a"ga" between otoko and suki and put a "desu" at the end) and he seems to be attracted to Trunks, revealing that he is a homosexual. (Ironically, the name may also be a pun on that of Oroku "the Shredder" Saki from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.) In the Spanish dub from Mexico; he was named "El Mañoso" which could be translated as "El Sneaky One."

A large competitor who competed in the previous 24th Tenkai'chi Tournament, he enters the 25th Tenka-ichi Budōkai for the chance of winning the prize money. His opponent this time is Kuririn. Before the match, Punta repeatedly insults Kuririn, who is shorter than him. Punta tells Kuririn about how badly he's going to defeat him. Kuririn, on the other hand, is embarrassed about having to fight such a weak competitor, and he knocks out Punta with a single punch to the stomach with his eyes closed.
Panpoot Template:Appears in:DB
Panpoot is a small, but fast human who is the star of several action movies. Like Mr. Satan, he has an inflated sense of himself. In the 22nd Tenka-ichi Budōkai, he fights Son Gokū, who disposes of him with eight fast elbow jabs. He is evidently killed by Tambourine as it was shown in the anime, but was restored back to life with the Dragonballs. His garb is like that of a Muay Thai kickboxer.
Ran Fuan Template:Appears in:DB
Named Ranfan in the anime, she is a competitor in the 21st Tenka-ichi Budōkai who uses the fact that she's a "defenseless" woman as a weapon. For example, she shrieks when someone is about to hit her, causing them to pause, and in that time, she'll deliver a crushing punch or kick. If that technique fails, then she strips and tries to shock or embarrass her opponent. Namu is only able to defeat her by closing his eyes and attacking her without, "looking upon her womanly flesh." In the manga, her picture is briefly seen on one of the image rosters as one of the many targets of Tambourine's mission to kill the martial artists in the Piccolo-Daimao Saga, though it is unknown if Ran Fuan was slain; given that she had not appeared in the manga or the anime after the Budōkai, it is safe to say that Tambourine was stopped before he could kill her. In the U.S. dub, the stripping was excluded almost entirely, making the match appear very unusual at the end.
