WWE Armageddon
WWE Armageddon is a professional wrestling pay-per-view event that began in December 1999, and followed the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November. Following the brand extension, Armageddon became an exclusive event for either RAW or SmackDown! (as of 2004), allowing any feuds stemming from Survivor Series to be finished. The only year that Armageddon has not been held was in 2001, when it was determined that the pay-per-view name should not be used due to the events of September 11, 2001 and the subsequent activities in Afghanistan; WWE Vengeance was shown in its place for that year only.
The origins of this pay-per-view however originated from a promo The Undertaker performed in which he said "What used to be known as SummerSlam is now known as Armageddon" prior to the SummerSlam event in 1999. WWE did not, at the time, have a proper Pay-Per-View event for the month of December (going from "Rock Bottom" and "D-Generation X" in previous years for December) and therefore Armageddon was taken. In 2007, however it will move out of it's traditional December slot into early November.

The official Armageddon theme song is called "The End", which originally appeared on WWE Anthology Disc 3. The song was composed by the WWE's music producer, Jim Johnston. "The End" has continuously been remade/remixed since the original version (on Anthology) was used in 1999, including an extended version reaching nearly four minutes in length that has been the mainstay theme for the past few Armageddon PPVs. The extended version was made available for purchase and download on WWE.com.
