Al-Hasakah District (Arabic: منطقة الحسكة) is a district (mantiqah) of the Al-Hasakah Governorate in Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 484,966.[1] The centre of the district is the city Al-Hasakah.

Divisions

The district of Al-Hasakah is divided into seven sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):

  • Al-Hasakah nahiyah (ناحية الحسكة): population 251,570.[2]
  • Tel Tamer nahiyah (ناحية تل تمر): population 50,982.[3]
  • Shaddadeh nahiyah (ناحية شدادة): population 58,916.[4]
  • Margadeh nahiyah (ناحية مركدة): population 34,745.[5]
  • Bir al-Helou nahiyah (ناحية بئر الحلو): population 38,833.[6]
  • Al-Arisheh nahiyah (ناحية العريشة): population 30,544.[7]
  • Al-Houl nahiyah (ناحية الهول): population 14,804.[8]
