Aye Ishq e Junoon is a 2024 Pakistani crime drama television series written by Sadia Akhtar and produced by Six Sigma Entertainment. The series follows a hotel manager whose brother commits a terrible crime and a hard-working young woman from a middle-class background who meets him by fate.[1][2][3]

Plot

Aimeen was the breadwinner of a poor family who needed money for her brother's surgery and clashed with her sister over demanding money from their mother. Rahim was the perfect son of a powerful family and a hotel manager engaged to his long-time girlfriend. Care workers face challenges caused by his spoiled brat brother Shehroze and his friends, who trouble hotel workers, including Aimen, who got an employee job until an event changed their lives forever when Aimen fall into a coma because of Sherozoe's and his friends' misdeeds which forced Rahim to take the drastic step to protect his family but guilt linger for Aimeen and her family.

The series has received positive reviews from critics. Saba Noor of Youlin Magazine noted that it presents intriguing elements, particularly the dynamic between the rich boy and poor girl, which serves as a central narrative device. However, Noor pointed out the problematic portrayal of alcohol consumption in the series. Despite this, she praised Ushna Shah's solid performance.[4][5][6]

Gaitee Ara Siddiqi of The News International found that the series has an "interesting plot with a captivating storyline", praised the direction and performances of all the actors except Shuja Asad.[7]
