Description
English: "Mr. Henry C. Gibson's Dining Room." 1612 Walnut Street, Philadelphia (altered c. 1870, demolished). Furness & Hewitt, architects.
In the background, atop the sideboard, are the twin sculptures Paradise Lost and The First Prayer by Joseph A. Bailly, commissioned by Gibson, and now in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Note also the modern Gothic chair, just beyond the archway.
