The Kachelotplate is a sandbank in the North Sea near the German coast west of the island of Juist. Since 2003 a large enough part of it is no longer flooded during high tide so it can be called an island. Also grass and dunes are settling there.

The new island is 2.5 kilometers long and up to 1.3 kilometers wide.
