Belmont University is a private, coeducational, comprehensive university related to the Tennessee Baptist Convention. It is the second largest Christian university in Tennessee.

The school has very close ties with the country music industry, and has a well-regarded program in recording industry management. The name of the school's basketball arena, Curb Event Center, also reflects its ties to that industry; the arena was named after its principal donor, country music recording executive Mike Curb.

This university is also the home of Dr. Larry Hall, a professor of political science and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Sports Information

Belmont's mascot is nicknamed the Bruins. The school is a member of the NCAA Division I and is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. The school has an ongoing basketball rivalry with Lipscomb University and plays them a handful of times per year in games nicknamed the Battle of the Boulevard.
