Autopatrolled

Requesting, to help reduce the workload at New page patrol. Tidy list of created articles here. Thank you! — WILDSTARTALK 23:25, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done, thank you for your contributions. – Joe (talk) 11:26, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

26 articles created; none deleted. Currently working on filling out all of the women entries in this, this, and this; also working on this depending on their coverage. Patrollers may have to verify Danish and Greenlandic text, so if they don't read those languages, the articles can clog the backlog. Urve (talk) 00:04, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Done, og tak for dit vigtige arbejde! – Joe (talk) 11:37, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I often create pages related to Indian football, clubs leagues and seasons. Bharat0078 (talk) 06:19, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. You must have created at least 25 articles to be eligible for autopatrolled. – Joe (talk) 13:53, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And now that you've ticked over to 25 articles, you are still not eligible, Bharat0078. You often fail to categorise your articles. I see links to dab pages. Have a look at what WP:DEFAULTSORT is. Articles with not a single wikilink in its prose (e.g. DCM Trophy). There are referencing errors showing up. And those are just issues that show up at first glance without digging into it. You are as far away from getting autopatrolled as is possible. Schwede66 19:03, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Has created 424 articles, none of which have been deleted. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 19:48, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • These are formulaic Russian geo articles, all using the exact same set of sources. I'm not familiar enough with Russian geography to determine whether a rural locality counts as legal recognition to satisfy WP:GEOLAND, but I'm confident that none of these creations show evidence of meeting GNG. A few of the sources in the Notes section appear to be automated/bot-generated which raises a red flag for me since they typically just use database content with no fact checking, for example this clearly just uses an algorithm to calculate the distance to the nearest railway from any given point on the map. I would suggest a thorough look into ThWiki1910's contributions to ensure we're not enabling another geostub fiasco. –dlthewave 02:56, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • I try to create articles according to GNG rules – there has been no objection to me. "formulaic Russian geo articles"? – yes (no time for more), "bot-generated"? – no (copy-paste similar things only, similar (verified) sources), "algorithm to calculate the distance" – no (manually, a locality is not a point – has a specific area). I myself have not applied for privileges because I am aware that my wikiactivity is limited to a very narrow field only. It seems that the willingness of I dream of horses has turned into the Kafka's Trial for me... ThWiki1910 12:31, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I realise some that people don't like geographic stubs on principle, but like it or not we don't have a policy against them. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with ThWiki1910's creations specifically, and this kind of high-volume, formulaic creation is exactly why we have autopatrolled.  Done, but please add WikiProject tags from now on @ThWiki1910:. – Joe (talk) 13:45, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
User:Joe Roe this should not have been approved. Per Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)/Archive_66#Automated_creation_of_stubs, this "large-scale semi-/automated article creation task" requires a BRFA. I do not believe that there is a consensus that we want mass-creation of pages for places with 1 person. Reywas92Talk 19:57, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Reywas92: The purpose of autopatrolled is to manage the flow of articles into the new page review queue. If you have a concern that ThWiki1910 is not adhering to the bot policy, or that there is otherwise something systematically wrong with his creations, please take that up at the appropriate venue. In the mean time there is no point continuing to ask new page patrollers to review each of his stubs individually, which is all I'm concerned about here. – Joe (talk) 07:35, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am familiar with the creations of the user, they are fully aligned with the policy. This is not a bot. Or if this user is a bot, I am also a bot.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:03, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe redundant, but per this, re-requesting Autopatrolled. I've written a number of articles, one of which was deleted, but as I remember it not for content reasons. These include 300+ articles started from scratch, 100+ DYKs, ~20 GAs and some featured content. I'd say I have a good grasp of notability policies and content creation so as not to need patrolling, but I'd feel better if I weren't the one granting the perm to myself.  Already done (automated response): This user is a sysop and already has the "Autopatrolled" user right. MusikBot talk 11:40, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Eddie891 It is redundant right now since sysops still have the autopatrolled right, but indeed that is going to change. Per the RfC, you can go ahead and assign the user group to yourself at Special:UserRights/Eddie891, if you wish. There's no need to request it here. MusikAnimal talk 19:06, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I think some number of admin are going to want a third party to do this even if they can self-assign. As such I am happy to do so. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 19:08, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect more likely we'll see the third parties nominating admins for autopatrolled, since this is a permission most will not realize they don't possess. In any case, thanks for helping out, and I will make the bot shut up about admins already having the permission (even though they still do, currently) :) MusikAnimal talk 19:14, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MusikAnimal the current (unfinalized) thinking is to MMS admins about this change. But yes I agree we are likely to see some third-party noms happen when this change goes into effect. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 19:33, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm primarily requesting this flag as targets-turned-redirects become automatically unpatrolled following round-robin page moves. I've created 72 articles, am familiar with the relevant policies and guidelines, and occasionally attempt to patriciate in ADF discussions. Only one article of mine was deleted, the others were self-requested CSDs. Colonestarrice (talk) 17:54, 6 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To date, I have created 25 articles. In general, I create articles on geographical topics such as mountain peaks, villages, and city locations (experimenting with bazaars and landmarks). Assigning an Autopatroller right to me might help to reduce the workload at New page patrol. RPSkokie (talk) 05:07, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To help reduce the workload at New page patrol, I request autopatrolled rights. I already created 523 articles, most of the redirs and disambiguations, but also much more than 25 "real" articles. Only few of them have been deleted, mostly because the target of a redir has been deleted (like Uchikoma) or sometimes I made spelling errors (like Fleischmann and Bloedel instead of Fleischmann & Bloedel which I myself requested for deletion). Cyfal (talk) 08:34, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have created 42 mainspace articles, none have been deleted, only one was a self-requested CSD. I know my way around WP:BLP and WP:GNG. I also periodically participate in AfDs. Xclusivzik (talk) 20:27, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Technically it's still bundled into the admin toolkit, but autopatrolled will be unbundled from that in about a week I think. Had it before getting the sysop bit, but I don't feel comfortable self-assigning it. List of created nonredirects here (xtools one seems to be cluttered with page move-related stuff for some reason), I understand if the ~15 articles per year I generally create isn't considered to be enough to warrant the perm. @Hog Farm: oh crap. I was here to nominate another sysop as a joke, but your request kinda makes it moot. —usernamekiran • sign the guestbook(talk) 20:48, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
