If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- MonsterVerse (currently a redirect to Monsterverse) → Monsterverse (move · discuss) – The official title is Monsterverse with a lower case "v" as seen on the page's official Twitter as well as when written out in the Legendary Shop items. The confusion stems from the logo design. 96.41.36.145 (talk) 17:51, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Steel Lake (Washington) → Steel Lake (move · discuss) – Also move page currently at Steel Lake to Steel Lake (disambiguation). The Washington lake is much more notable than the Ontario lake, and should occupy the primary title. DirtyHarry991 (talk) 05:54, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure this is totally obvious... Until recently the ontario one was the only article and sat at the Base name. And the Canadian one is vastly bigger than the Washington one. Obvuously the latter is in an urban area though, so will naturally attract more interest I'd say probably a disambiguation page is fine for now. — Amakuru (talk) 10:19, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Shirvanshah (currently a redirect to Shirvanshahs) → Shirvanshahs (move · discuss) – The article is about the state and not the term. Aintabli (talk) 00:00, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Jupiter's Legacy (comic) → Jupiter's Legacy (move · discuss) – Unnecessary disambiguation with television show. Comic book series is primary topic, and television show was cancelled after one season. Ghosfiero (talk) 14:54, 15 December 2023 (UTC) Ghosfiero (talk) 14:54, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Vishnudeo Sai (currently a redirect to Vishnu Deo Sai) → Vishnu Deo Sai (move · discuss) – WP:COMMONNAME The Doom Patrol (talk) 19:55, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- User:Penitentes/Windy Fire (2021) (currently a redirect to Windy Fire) → Windy Fire (move · discuss) – Draft userspace article is ready for mainspace but article title currently exists as a redirect to 2021 California wildfires Penitentes (talk) 20:05, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- This is not the correct venue for this. Please submit your draft for review to Articles for Creation. Bensci54 (talk) 21:43, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- OK, thank you. Is the only issue with my request that the draft must be published before the move? Penitentes (talk) 21:49, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- This is not the correct venue for this. Please submit your draft for review to Articles for Creation. Bensci54 (talk) 21:43, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Bath broom (currently a redirect to Sauna whisk) → Vihta (currently a redirect instead to Sauna whisk) (move · discuss) – The current redirect page is the WP:CommonName. PK-WIKI (talk) 21:05, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Does WP:USEENGLISH not apply here? I have never personally heard of either, so I can't really say one way or another on the true common name. -2pou (talk) 21:42, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Template:PensacolaMobileTV → Template:Mobile–Pensacola TV (move · discuss) – Proper formatting. 100.7.34.111 (talk) 21:07, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Having an endash in a template name seems problematic to me. Bensci54 (talk) 21:45, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Titanes de Licey (currently a redirect to Titanes del Distrito) → Titanes del Licey (currently a redirect instead to Titanes del Distrito) (move) – Typo. Team formerly used the name "Titanes del Licey" Dieter Lloyd Wexler 22:07, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- List of fictional extraterrestrials (currently a redirect to Lists of fictional extraterrestrials) → Lists of fictional extraterrestrials (move · discuss) – List of lists. TompaDompa (talk) 22:15, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Liga Nacional de Básquetbol (Argentina) (currently a redirect to Liga Nacional de Básquetbol) → Liga Nacional de Básquetbol (move · discuss) – A Paraguayan league exists, but the Argentine league seems to be the primary topic. A for hatnote can be added for the Paraguayan league if article is moved Dieter Lloyd Wexler 22:17, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Makran Sultnate is invalid. Must create Makran Sultnate before requesting that it be moved to Sultanate of Makran.– Undo undiscussed page move to a title with a typo in it which was then copy and pasted to Makran Sultanate. Uhai (talk) 11:14, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Mitsuhiro Matsuda is invalid. Must create Mitsuhiro Matsuda before requesting that it be moved to Draft:Mitsuhiro Matsuda.– Does not contain proper footnotes for a biography of a living person. GoingBatty (talk) 21:53, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
- Real-time → Real time (currently a redirect back to Real-time) (move · discuss) – Titles must be nouns, not modifiers; disambiguation page and redirect are backwards. Stephan Leeds (talk) 06:12, 14 December 2023 (UTC) Stephan Leeds (talk) 06:12, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- I don't understand this rationale at all. Almost everything on this page appears to use a hyphenated real-time and the page should simply reflect what the articles being linked to use. SnowFire (talk) 06:34, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- The reason almost everything on the page uses hyphenation is that none of those listed titles use only those two words to refer to their subjects; the words are always being used as a compound modifier of some noun. Indeed, none of those articles are about real time itself; they are all about something that involves real time. It is a WP:set index article, not a disambiguation page; none of those topics are referred to simply as "real-time" or "real time". None of those listed examples are about the topic itself. See also Talk:Real-time#the troublesome hyphen. I agree that the hyphen should be removed. — BarrelProof (talk) 14:46, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- I don't think set-index articles are that different from disambiguation pages, ultimately. If almost all the terms are done in one style, the page should match that style. I'd rather have the full discussion. SnowFire (talk) 23:01, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- FYI, I submitted an RM for the hyphenless outlier Real time Java. (I also submitted one for Livestreaming.) — BarrelProof (talk) 00:53, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- All article titles are required to be nouns. Real-time is not a noun. Real time is the noun, therefore that’s the correct title. Stephan Leeds (talk) 04:44, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- This doesn't sound right. Wonderful is an adjective but has a disambiguation page for uses of specifically "Wonderful". It sounds like you think that all of these usages should be moved to the Wonder disambiguation page instead, the noun form? Is that accurate, or am I misreading you? SnowFire (talk) 19:11, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- When it is the name of an album, a song, or a band, Wonderful is a noun. "Real-time" is not used as the name of anything. — BarrelProof (talk) 21:01, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

- Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki → Time Goes By (move · discuss) – IMDB uses the English transliterated title (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1784141/). This is also the name that the broadcast network uses in English with the original title in brackets (https://kanald.international/the-journey-of-time-goes-by-continues/). This suggests that it is more known under the translated title to an English/international audience. Also I think that it would be a PRIMARYTOPIC over the current Time Goes By page which is very short - so that page would probably need to move to Time Goes By (Every Little Thing song). Galeeger (talk) 17:21, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
- The show's dialogue, production, and promotional materials are in Turkish, so I believe the standard here is to keep the Turkish title for the article. It would be awkward to use a translated version of an American show's title just because it is distributed to other countries, and this request is simply the reverse of that. The alternate English title "Time Goes By" is already mentioned in the lead paragraph. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 01:58, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- That IMDB page when the first-matching language in the browser’s (system’s) language list is English shows the title Time Goes By because IMDB always shows a title in the browser language if the work was ever released in a market using that language, even if the work is obscure in that market. When the first-matching language in the browser’s (system’s) language list is Turkish, it shows the title Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki. Stephan Leeds (talk) 06:30, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
