Why I created this page
[edit]I agreed with this "Fix" post below (copied from Talk:History of modern Egypt#Fix) With the 2011 Revolution, I think the History of the Egypt under the Republic deserves more space in wikipedia --BoogaLouie (talk) 21:53, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
Fix
[edit]This page should discuss about Egyptian history since 1956 when the British completely withdrew from Egypt until now. And the period 1882-1956 should be move to a new page History of Egypt under the British or History of British Egypt. 75.31.138.186 (talk) 23:22, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree and will do it. --BoogaLouie (talk) 22:04, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- Now all I have to do is trim down the History of Modern Egypt article --BoogaLouie (talk) 22:15, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- To avoid confusion (When did "Modern Egypt" begin?) I created this article. --BoogaLouie (talk) 22:01, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
- A mean person rvted my changes to the template. If I have time I will fork off articles on Nasser era, Mubarak era and Sadat era and rvt the template back. --BoogaLouie (talk) 01:06, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
forks for Nasser Sadat and Mubarak
[edit]My plan is to create articles -- namely Nasser era, Sadat Era and Mubarak era -- to spin off from this article. (So far I just have a Nasser era article.) Why this way? All three ruled for a good chunk of time; all had great power, and so great influence over Egypt during their "eras." My plan is to distinguish the articles from the articles on the individual presidents by including information on the the Egyptian economy, education, human rights during their reigns. --BoogaLouie (talk) 17:02, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on History of the Republic of Egypt. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20090219170414/http://www.alarabiya.net:80/articles/2009/02/18/66736.html to http://www.alarabiya.net/articles/2009/02/18/66736.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

Title
[edit]The "Republic of Egypt" (with a capital R) refers to Egypt only from 1953 to 1958. The term used in sources for the entire period from 1952–present is "republican Egypt". — AjaxSmack 21:21, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
