The Firing Squad is a 2024 American adventure drama film written and directed by Timothy A. Chey and starring Kevin Sorbo and Cuba Gooding Jr.[3][4] It was released on August 2, 2024 by Epoch Studios, a division of The Epoch Times newspaper.[5]
The film is inspired by the story of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, members of the Bali Nine.
Plot
[edit]The film is based on the true story of three Christian prisoners facing execution, who find unexpected solace through Jesus within the prison walls. While seizing their past they undergo an extraordinary transformation in which they discover hope, forgiveness, and power to change lives.

[edit]In November 2023, it was announced that production wrapped.[7]
Gooding said when he first read the script, he wept.[8]
Release
[edit]The Firing Squad was released nationwide in theaters on August 2, 2024.[9]
The film opened at #9 nationwide in theaters opening weekend.[1]
The movie also premiered in the 2024 National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention.[10]
