Aditya Maan (born 12th February 1998) is an Indian boxer, hailing from Hisar, a small town of

Haryana. He played his first state level match at the age of 13 in 26 Sub-Junior Men Haryana

State Boxing Championship and got a silver medal. In the same year he has played another state

level tournament bagging a gold and the Sub-Junior Men National Boxing Tournament bagging

a gold again.

In the year 2012, he won a silver and a gold medal for Sub-Junior State and National Boxing tournament respectively.

In 2013, he won a bronze in the 1st Nalanda Cup All India Sub-Junior (Cadet) Men Boxing Tournament. In the same year he won a bronze at the Asian Junior Boxing Championship held at Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

In the years 2013-14, he got selected for the Indian Camp (Junior) and received the practice under the guidance of National coach. In 2013, he went for the Junior World Championship held in Kiev, Ukraine. He won the first two initial matches but lost in the quarter finals. After the tournament he again attended the Indian Camp (Junior) and kept practicing.

In the year 2016, he won a gold at the All India University Championship, Punjab. Then he turned to Senior National Boxing Coaching Camp. In 2017, he went to U.S.A. and won a belt at the Ring Side World Championship in Kansas City, U.S.A. in the same year he won his second gold in the All India University Championship,

Biography

1998–2012: Early life and turn into boxing

Aditya Maan was born in a Jaat family in Hisar, Haryana. His father Anil Maan was a national level boxer, his mother Usha Maan was a housewife. Out of the two children in the family, he is the elder one. Boxing is in his blood and therefore at a very young age he started his training under the guidance of his father, who has been an inspiration for him always. He got complete support from his family which helped him move forward steadily.

He started his early practice at Mahavir Stadium, Hisar, where he would go early in the morning and practice with his father. His was completely devoted towards his game and his hard work started yielding fruit when he began winning some district level boxing tournaments. He has always been enthusiastic about everything that he does in life. From a very young age he has shown interest in the social welfare of the underprivileged section of the society and has been a social activist like his father. He believes, “Helping is self-satisfaction and not expecting anything in return, a volunteer act .”

In 2016 and 2017 for two consecutive years he won gold medals at the All India University Championship, Punjab.
