The Nigeria Media Merit Award,( NMMA) is the Nation’s premier media award[1]which is presented annually to recognize, celebrate and reward exemplary media practitioners and organizations. It is also aimed at promoting media excellence and bringing unity in the media.
The chairman, board of The Nigeria Media Merit Award (NMMA) is Alhaji Alade Odunewu. He said that the first 10 editions of the award was held in Lagos where you have the concentration of Media practitioners, but after the investiture of former President Olusegun Obasanjo as Grand Patron of NMMA, he suggested that the award should be hosted in other states as well.[2][3]
