Projects

[edit]
  1. Reduce number of clubs stubs: (see Category:English football club stubs) As of 14 May 2015 there are around 284 (414, 352, 327, 318, 286, 276, 247, 215, 174, 157, 137, 123) English non-league football club stubs (26 extant clubs). If all participants aimed to make one club article per day non-stub, then it would not take long (5 days to be precise!). Things a club page should have to be made non-stub:
    • Details of league played in, and rough geographic location (county/borough).
    • Completed infobox
    • Brief history, honours list and club records (Football Club History Database is useful here, but always cite your sources)
    • Link to club website
    • League template (where there is one – see here for current list)
See Lutterworth Athletic F.C. for an example of an article with the minimum for non-stub status.
Letter of month: B There are just two extant non-league club stubs starting with the letter B: Belper United F.C., Broadfields United F.C.
In the past the project has de-stubbed all of the extant clubs starting with E, J and R!
  2. Expand league articles: Any league article should include:
    • {{Infobox football league}}
    • Geographic area covered
    • Current number of divisions / teams.
    • Recent champions, if not all.
    • League template (for all divisions), plus promotion/relegation info
    • External link
    • A list of stub league articles can be found at Category:English football competition stubs (as of 14 May 2015 there are 98)
    • Most of the articles for leagues at level 10 or below are so far only start class. Midland Football Alliance is an example of what to eventually aim for.
  3. Create all season articles for Step 3–4 (levels 7–8): 225/253 (89%)as of 23 December 2013
  4. Add club badges for every team down to level 10: 611/611 (100%)as of 2 December 2012

Please feel free to add any new projects you think the taskforce should focus on.

Adopt an article

[edit]

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
