Plot needs rewriting

The plot is quite unaccurate, I believe it should be rewritten totally. I'll try to do it myself.--190.234.142.196 (talk) 17:14, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Arturo[reply]

No inline citations and only one reference

This article has no proper references. Could someone add them or at least add the proper template? I'm sorry, I don't know how to do that.--190.234.142.196 (talk) 17:16, 26 February 2010 (UTC)Arturo[reply]

Historical accuracy?

The page reads like a puff-piece and ignores the novel's problems with historical accuracy. The characters' names and depictions of 1020s London are preposterous. This was pre-Norman Conquest, reign of Cnut Sveinsson, yet the characters have names more redolent of Victorian (or modern American) fiction, and the idea of a Guild of Carpenters & c belongs more to the later Middle Ages. My "willing suspension of disbelief" barely outlasted the first page. If a novelist can't even be bothered to give his characters in-period, culturally appropriate names, why read on?
