Speedy deletion declined: User:Samsuni0506/sandbox/Edvin Thompson

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Samsuni0506/sandbox/Edvin Thompson, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: It's a sandbox article, it's not spammy. Might not be notabe, but it's early enough in development to give it some time. Thank you. GedUK  12:18, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Oyinkansola Alabi

Hello GPL93. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Oyinkansola Alabi, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Touch and go this one. The article is quite bit different from the deleted version and with better looking sources, so I don't think the G4 applies. I don't see that the Spam CSD applies either really. Needs to go back to AfD for a more thorough review. . Thank you. GedUK  08:08, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ITN recognition for Dean Carlson

On 12 August 2022, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Dean Carlson, which you created. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 16:09, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your CSD of Draft:New Department (Brand). I would delete it myself, but I was approached with a Question on my talk page by its author from the Mentorship panel. I advised them this would never be an article. I feel it would not be in good faith for me to delete it myself so quickly. But I completely agree with your assessment. Removing high school awards

Hi GPL93,

Sorry about that. I guess if they make it to the NFL, we could visit them again. Thanks for the explanation and I'll go back and revert the others.

A barnstar for you!

The Special Barnstar
Thank you for pinging me so I could take a second look at the NPOL criteria. I skimmed over it WAY too fast and should have read it a little closer. Even three years into joining WP, I'm still learning the differences between certain criteria when it comes to AfD, so I just wanted to let you know that I appreciated your helping me out! See you around, thanks again! SPF121188 (talk this way) (contribs) 19:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jamie Ritchie (baseball) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Jamie Ritchie (baseball), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ways to improve Luke McCaffrey

Hello, GPL93,

Thank you for creating Luke McCaffrey.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Player does not appear to meet WP:GNG nor WP:ATHLETE policies as they have not received significant coverage (beyond WPROUTINE) in multiple secondary sources, nor have they have been successful in a major competition nor won a significant honor. Moreover being related to other notable people (WP:BIORELATED) does not imply notability.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Barkeep}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

BarkeepChat 16:11, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Barkeep: It has 20 WP:RS refs. If you believe that the subject somehow does not meet GNG, AfD would have been the appropriate venue. I have moved the article back to the main space and added an additional five references. GPL93 (talk) 16:43, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Luke McCaffrey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject does not meet WP:GNG nor WP:ATHLETE policies. All references in regards to the subject fall under WP:ROUTINE coverage for sports. The article written could be about any football player at any major FBS school. Subject has not been successful in a major competition nor won a significant honor. Moreover being related to other notable people (WP:BIORELATED) does not imply notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
