Villa are the 5th most successful club in history. They were 4th until Chelsea started winning trophys. And someone has hijacked the 'most successful English clubs in history to include Spurs, which is a joke. They have won 2 League Cups in neary 30 years. No where near villa. They have started using European rounds, Runners up in Premier, etc. This is a disgrace trying to include Spurs. It is about major Trophys.AVFC1888 (talk) 18:27, 11 March 2019 (UTC) AVFC1888 (talk) 18:27, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please change fitness coach from vacant to Jack Sharkey as specified on https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2018/07/11/villa-in-portugal-sharkey-interview — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.124.214.110 (talkcontribs)

Question: That source calls him the "lead sports scientist". Is that the same thing as a fitness coach? NiciVampireHeart 21:33, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: nil response to above query in 48 hours. NiciVampireHeart 19:26, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

UEFA 5 star stadium

How is Villa Park a 5 star category stadium while this rating system only goes up to 4?? GOLDIEM J (talk) 12:17, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It used to read 4-star, which would have been true when the section was originally written before the rating system changed, which was in 2006 according to UEFA stadium categories. It went to 5-star by vandalism, or bragging, and nobody noticed. I'll remove it.
On a general note, that whole section hasn't changed significantly since 2007, is almost entirely unsourced, and doesn't really give the sort of neutral overview you'd expect in a featured article these days: too much trivia, far too much about the (then newly opened) training ground, and too little about Villa Park itself. Could do with someone with access to some decent sources giving it a going over. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:21, 18 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Add the following announcement to the 'Kit Sponsorship' section:

Beginning with the 2020–21 season, the club's primary shirt sponsor will be online car retailer Cazoo[1], after the club announced the termination of the previous deal with W88.[2] 82.11.230.8 (talk) 10:04, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done with the correct reference formatting. Woody (talk) 16:07, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kit Sponsor table

I've removed the kit sponsor table as it's size was overwhelming on the page and is in my opinion far too much detail. Under the bold, revert, discuss cycle I am opening this up for a consensus to develop here. Woody (talk) 15:41, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's the right decision as due to the current trend in football many clubs will have a new shirt sponsor every season. I've removed the table in the Burnley article as well, and replaced it with a short prose part. Maybe you can take this to the talkpage of WikiProject Football? I'm sure many will agree with you. Club nicknames should also include "The Villains " which is used as a playful nickname by other clubs. It should be noted that Aston Villa fans join in with this and is considered endearing and not an insult. JamesVicary92 (talk) 09:56, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:32, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kit manufacturer information is incorrect in "Kit Sponsor" section.

The kit manufacturer for the current season is Castore, not Kappa. Per Wikipedia's article on the 2022-23 Premier League season. 2022–23 Premier League#Personnel and kits

If the section is not going to be updated regularly or correctly, I suggest it be removed completely, since the request to remove the predecessor (the Kit Sponsor table) seems to have been approved two years ago and there is little or no effort to make sure the information in this section is correct (much less comprehensive). 173.174.238.157 (talk) 04:37, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
