Obafemi Martins

[edit]

Hey Struway. Just felt I notify you that the Obafemi Martins goal record is flawed and he never scored a hat-trick for Nigeria especially in that 2005 game against Algeria in Oran. I corrected it a few weeks ago but noticed you adjusted it again. The scorers in that game in Oran are John Utaka, Martins x2, Yusuf Ayila and Christian Obodo who was assisted by Martins. Its an inaccurate data of over 18 years and needs to be rectified. I have video evidence on YouTube to back my claim. Oldnaijafootball (talk) 17:01, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to join New pages patrol

[edit]

Hello Struway2!

  • The New Pages Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • We think that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Antonee Burke-Gilroy, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Striker.

Jack Manners

[edit]

Hello there, I was recently expanding the Jack Manners (footballer) article from info in the Hartlepool United: The Complete Record book. The book lists his DOB as 4 May 1880 but wiki previously listed it as 27 December 1877 with a link to the English National Football Archive. I do not have access to this but heard that you might have access. I was wondering if you would be able to check this on my behalf/recommend any good sources from this period to check which date is correct? All the best Michaeldble (talk) 21:39, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for checking the InternetArchiveBot edit, I don't know why it sometimes do that. But at least the archiveurl is already there. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 09:13, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Iggy the Swan: might be that the 404 page isn't coded properly, so it displays 404 to us but doesn't have whatever the bot needs to see in the code to recognise it as a dead link. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:20, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your reasoning seems reasonable. At least with Joe Hart you've managed to find another source. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 13:14, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
