Imam Khomeini Airport

Hey buddy, i removed your edits to Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport, stating the Air France will halt its services to Tehran in October. Unfortuantley, you did not provide a source to back up your point. If you could just provide me a source to prove your point, I would be obliged. thankyou, User: Megastrike 14 xx —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.0.229.73 (talk) 11:45, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You did not listen to me. I asked you politley to provide me a source proving your point but you completley ignored me and re-editte the page. If there is no source available to prove that Air France is terminating its services to Tehran, please do not add this point in. If you offend again, I will report you for vandalism and may take further action against you. thankyou, User:Megastrike14

If you would have provided me with that source in the first place then we would not have had this problem would we. all i was asking for was a little cooperation with you but that obviously was too difficult. Thank you

Back in '07 you edited a photo that I had uploaded. I forgot to thank you for making sure that it was correctly labled. Yes, I know its been a long time since then but I just now looked at the images history and saw that you were the one who edited it. ArmoredPersonel (talk) 17:58, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mirabel

Thanks for finding that. I have the NAVCAN CFS and of course it was removed from there some time ago. But I couldn't find anything on the official site to indicate that it was closed and they don't answer email. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 02:28, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

By the way I would be careful about quoting NAV CANADA. Take a look at User talk:CambridgeBayWeather#Nav Canada (my reply at User talk:Stinking Jack) and then NAV CANADA. Those guys can't even update their own site. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 02:34, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I only could find 46 which is why I typed the list out. Also we should let the reader decide the correct version seeing as they both come from the same source. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 03:03, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport & First Air

Please look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports#Airport article structure and then to item #5 it says "...the flight number and the aircraft, starts at this airport and continues to one or more airports." It also says that "Direct flights are not always non-stop flights." Then if you go to First Air Flight Schedule you can see that on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, First Air 866 flies to Iqaluit. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just followed the "Flights Schedule On-Line" link from http://www.admtl.com/passenger_services.aspx?id=45 to http://www.admtl.com/flightschedulesonline.aspx. It also shows that you can get to Iqaluit from CYUL. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:13, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Canada's busiest airport

That page uses the NAV CANADA TP577 as a source for movments. That way all the airports are from the same source. Otherwise you would have to list a source for each airport. Plus the fact is that not every airport in Canada counts the same way. They all seem to have larger numbers than NAV CANADA comes up with.

Mistake

Hello... I'm new to Wikipedia so I'm not sure if this is the place to do this or not, but I noticed that you changed what I put for Thomas Cook Airlines for the Calgary International Airport. You stated that Thomas Cook Airlines only flies from Manchester to Calgary. You deleted my addition of the London Gatwick to Calgary route.

I worked for Thomas Cook Airlines. This summer, in it's tour opertaor conjuction with Canadian Affair, Thomas Cook Airlines flew from London Gatwick to Calgary on Thursdays and Saturdays, and from Manchester to Calgary on Sundays.

You stated that on FlyThomasCook.com it only has Manchester to Calgary. I'm not sure where or why that is stated but I know that they also have a London Gatwick to Calgary route because I work for them in Calgary!

Currently, Thomas Cook does not have any flights to Calgary - this is usual for the winter season as Monarch Airlines serves the routes of London Gatwick and Manchester to Calgary.

So, please stop deleting the London Gatwick to Calgary route. I apologize if this is the wrong area to post this kind of message to you.

-griffinpaul

Air Canada Jazz to Toronto City Centre?

I notice that you recently edited the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport article to add Air Canada Jazz service from Ottawa to Toronto City Centre. Do you have a source for that? They're still not listing flights at the Air Canada web site. David 23:29, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply on my talk page. I think that we should revert your change, since Jazz isn't actually flying to City Centre right now — it's probably just stale information on the airport web site. I also received a private e-mail from the manager of CYTZ, and he said that while there have been some negotiations with other carriers, Porter is currently the only one with service to the airport. David 21:37, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've pulled the City Centre destination off the airport page for now, because it's not verifiable, and will check the CYUL and CYTZ articles as well. You mentioned on my talk page that you had a conversation with a Porter pilot who said Jazz would start flying to City Centre again in January, but even if the pilot's information is accurate, it would be original research, so we can't use it for a Wikipedia article. We have to wait until Jazz makes an official announcement, or some other source publishes the information. Right now, Jazz isn't even selling tickets to City Centre (only two weeks before the Porter pilot told you service will resume). On 14 December, Bill Yule, the director of the airport, sent wrote this in a private e-mail to me: "With respect to Commercial Services Porter Airlines are the only operators at this time and they are flying to Ottawa and Montreal, we have received expressions of interest from others however, nothing concrete has developed yet." We cannot even write that there's a rumour that Jazz will resume service unless we can point to a public source somewhere. David 12:47, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AC/LH codeshare at Algiers

User_talk:200.122.86.50 keeps re-adding AC's service to Algiers. Isn't this against the WP:3RR rule? He's obviously wrong and doesn't appear responsive to attempts to correct his mistakes. Any idea what can be done about this? --BetaCentauri 05:44, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

YEG

Hi I noticed you removed the one stop service from Edmonton to Quebec City through Toronto by WestJet. I agree with this change and was wondering what you thought of all the destinations listed from YEG with Canadian North and First Air, considering most of the connections are after a stop in their hub of Yellowknife... How come Canadian ATC centers are spelled the American way? Shouldn't Canadian objects, per MOS, be spelled the Commonwealth way (centre)? HkCaGu (talk) 08:29, 31 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Aeroflot destinations

Hi, why arent you preventing that person Dimitree from arranging the destinations list according to his own prefernces? he created a section "CIS" i.e Commonwealth of Independant States which is a political group of post-Soviet states of the former Soviet Union, and not a region of any continent, are people going to be allowed to list destinations under "European Union" next instead of Europe, or "SAARC" instead of South Asia? he also didnt list the destinations of Asia as they should be listd region wise but creatd his own version with some countries in CIS others as Asian the rest as Middle East, I thought editors were supposed to correct articles and mainatin wiki formats.116.71.63.229 (talk) 18:38, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's just 1 day until the contest begins, so I thought I'd check in with everyone and make sure you're all ready to go. First I'd like everyone to check out the main contest page and read over the rules and the scoring system. If you have any final questions or concerns, make them known on the talk page. locations of countries

Physical locations of countries, keeping in mind their primary landmass (not islands etc):

  • Fully in Asia:
  1. Armenia
  2. Cyprus
  • Partly in Asia, partly in Africa
  1. Egypt - Sinai is in Asia
  • Partly in Asia, partly in Europe
  1. Azerbaijan - lies both north and south of the Caucasus
  2. Georgia - lies both north and south of the Caucasus
  3. Kazakhstan - lies both east and west of the Urals
  4. Russia - lies both east and west of the Urals
  5. Turkey - Thrace is in Europe; the rest in Asia

Their political, cultural, historical leanings are immaterial. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 20:52, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The UN isn't wrong, and you opinion isn't wrong either. But yiu need to look at the basis on which the UN forms its subregions. Physical location is not the UN's only criteria; convenience, commonality , etc have all been factored in. That is why there are so many differing opinions of what lies where.. Pooking at pure physical location, there will be slight differences. Jasepl (talk) 21:22, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Direct flights

Hello, thanks for your message. WestJet operates a lot of same plane service throughout Canada, for example: Grande Prairie - Edmonton - Calgary - Kamloops - Vancouver is all on the same plane with the same flight number. It would make little sense to list all of those destinations under the Grande Prairie Airport article right? There should be a limit, maybe if the flight continues to an international destination then it is ok, but not another domestic aiport, especially a hub like YYZ. Just my thought. Busiest airports

Just wanted to let you know that I changed Toronto Pearson International Airport to the StatCan numbers. That way all the airports use the same source rather than the self reported numbers. While I was updating the articles I noticed that Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport has 770,000 for passengers in 2009. That would make them the 15th busiest in Canada. Not only that but they had a 60% in aircraft movements in 2010. So based on that in the "Canada's 15 busiest airports by passenger traffic" section I dropped Fort McMurray Airport and added Billy Bishop. Unfortunately StatsCan don't provide passenger numbers for Billy Bishop as per the Statistics Act. I guess it's some sort of secret. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 07:31, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I missed the fact that in February they changed "Toronto City Centre" to "Billy Bishop Toronto City" and then to "Toronto/Billy Bishop Toronto City". That put the airport in three different places on the tables. I'll redo the numbers. Thanks for seeing that. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 23:08, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neuville Airport

Do you know if the CNV9 is confirmed? I see they have it on the site but as of the latest Canada Flight Supplement (July 26) there is no listing for the airport or the code. As you said, even the airport is not in the CFS yet. I was hoping AIS would make it for the July 26 publication, but i guess not. Hopefully for the next issue. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Delta Connection destinations, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Halifax (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Pointless list?

Hi, you created List of airports in Nagorno-Karabakh a couple of years ago. It has but a single entry and so seems rather pointless. Can it not be merged into a Transport section at Nagorno-Karabakh and redirected there? - Sitush (talk) 10:27, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it can i suppose. Mind doing it? Thenoflyzone (talk) 14:12, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Armenian help needed

Hello Thenoflyzone, I'm contacting you because we need some Armenian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on hy.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need assistance with a personal message for the Armenian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Air Canada Express

Just to let you know, Air Canada Express is a brand...not a certified airline, it operates regional feeder flights for Air Canada. It is just like Delta Connection, United Express, American Eagle, and US Airways Express. So, it can't hub. 68.119.73.36 (talk) 03:37, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced edits

Hello. This is not the first time I revert ([1], [2]) some of your unreferenced edits. Given that your first edit occurred in Octobre 2006, you should know by now that there exists a policy on verifiability. Please stop adding unsourced content into articles. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 21:49, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • You do realize that the mileage for all the other flights on that list are not sourced right? Besides, My source isn't there to claim the mileage, my source (which i just replaced with the official AA.com one) is there to claim the start of the new route. The mileage is taken from where it is almost always taken on that page, which is gcmap.com

Thenoflyzone (talk) 10:44, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    • That's why there's a tag at the top of the article indicating the need of more sources. The lack of references is not an entitlement for adding more unsourced content. Yes, you provided a reference for your edit. As I said, it is out of context: it did not support the fact that the flight will be among the longest non-stop ones. It only says American will start that flight.--Jetstreamer Talk 14:11, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New pulkovo terminal

Hey, thanks for updating the Pulkovo airport page to take into account the new terminal. However, I think a bit more clarification work would be useful as this currently reads this way: "In the near term, Pulkovo strategically focuses on its master plan until 2025 that calls for massive modernization of the entire airport infrastructure. A new terminal will be located directly to the north of the Terminal 1 and will contain 18 gates. The construction was planned to begin in 2008 with scheduled completion in 2010/11, but construction started only in spring 2011 with opening for passengers expected in December 2013. The new Terminal 1 opened on February 14, 2014. All operations have now been consolidated into the new terminal as the old Pulkovo-1 and Pulkovo-2 terminals have been shut down." I think the "A new terminal will be located..." part refers to the new terminal which opened in February 2014, so using 'will' is no longer accurate. I'm not sure how to properly reword this though, hence this message :( — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChristopheFergeau (talkcontribs) 17:17, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Air China flight discussion

Information icon Hello,33aircharter in reply to your message regarding Air China flight between Havana and Beijing. According to your message sent to me then why do you have both Montreal and Beijing flight begins (28 DEC 2015) on that date on the Havana section? That is a misleading statement in that it will make someone think two plane services will be flying on that same date to Havana instead of one. As the source state Air China flies BEI-YUL-HAV return HAV-YUL-BEI, which is an extension of the present ongoing flight between BEI-YUL. so in that case my edit was not false. 33aircharter (talk) 15:49, 20 NOV 2015 (UTC)

Yes it is wrong. Taken straight from WP:AIRPORTS page content section.

"List non-stop and direct flights only. That means the flight number and the aircraft, starts at this airport and continues to one or more airports. Avoid using the description 'via' since that is more correctly listed as another destination. If passengers can not disembark at a stop on a direct flight, then do not list it as a destination or as 'via'. Direct flights are not always non-stop flights. However, avoid listing direct flights that contain a stop at a domestic hub, as virtually all of these are simply flights from one "spoke city" to a hub, with the plane continuing from the hub to a second spoke city. Furthermore, these flights often involve plane changes, despite the direct designation. Including these flights dramatically increases the length of destination listings, artificially inflates the airline's presence at a location and requires constant updating, as these "timetable direct" destinations have little rhyme or reason and may change as often as every week or two."

So as you see, YUL should be listed on the HAV airport page, same as PEK, because Air China will be selling seats to Montreal as well, and it is the same plane, same flight number operating.

Thenoflyzone (talk) 20:08, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

33aircharter So then why are you continuing to use both begins 28th dec 2015 don't matter what excuse you come up with when flights is listed like that it means that two separate aircrafts flies the two destinations so that's why its important to make an additional note. E.g look at the Barbados, Tobago, Saõ Paulo page what do you see? Gol flight operate GRU-BGI-TAB and return TAB-BGI-GRU, it is an extended flight so all you have to do is change via and put what think is best. since Air China is not a Montrèal hub the airline will fly from PEK to YUL pick up and drop off passengers then continue completion in Havana. passengers can book from PEK to YUL & YUL-PEK but the ones who book PEK-HAV have to remain on the plane, passengers cannot book flights from YUL-HAV nor from HAV-YUL so therefore passengers travelling to PEK from HAV will remain on the plane when arrive at YUL. hope you understand. thanks. —Preceding undated comment added 13:10, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Participation at WT: Airports

As you may be aware, there was a recent discussion on the talk page of WP:Airports which prematurely and without consensus resulted in mass changes to airport articles throughout Wikipedia. Before a drastic change like this is put into practice, it is important to have clear consensus, which from my readings as an observer, did not occur. Many of these changes started to occur before any real discussion had taken place, and despite much disagreement from some community members. Disagreement is good -- it's great actually -- without it nothing would ever get done. But it's important that everyone opinions are heard fairly and accurately, and that significant changes like merging the Regional Airline destinations with the Mainline destinations are not done without such consensus. I encourage you, as someone involved in WP:Airports and the original discussion, to voice your opinions and discuss with others about how we should move forward at this point. Positive and constructive conversation is the way to a consensus. I also ask that everyone (myself included) ceases merging or un-merging mainline/regional destinations until a censuses is reached. Please contribute to the conversation here. Tofutwitch11 (TALK) 00:49, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

EK DXB to GIG and EZE/SCL

Dear colleague, thanks for your update about EK operations to GIG. However, I encourage you to check a later update (4AUG) on Routes Online [3] stating that not only EZE and SCL are cancelled but also GIG. Qatar Airways YYZ

Do you know why Qatar Airways cancelled booking flights to YYZ, and if/when the flight will return? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.229.208.70 (talk) 19:33, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Qatar's bilateral agreement with Canada is maxed out with 4x weekly frequencies a week, currently all being used for YUL. They received extra-bilateral approval to operate 3x weekly service to YYZ for the month of July only. Hence why the flights are no longer bookable. QR should have never advertised the new route in the first place. Fake news, so to speak, as it's not a new route, just a temporary permission, due to COVID. Yes, the flights were bookable online, but QR made it seem like the route was a permanent addition. It isn't. Air India has received the same kind of approval for YVR service this month, yet they never announced it as a new route.Thenoflyzone (talk) 20:17, 11 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
